GPU for My 5600x AMD
Comments
Aye
That was one my considerations
TaAny particular games youll be playing?
Son playing fortnighe ,I am casual gamer , playing more on console ,will play on PC if run it well
I am playing mostly single player games ,ps5 AAA styleGPU depends on the screen resolution you are playing games at …
A 4090 is pretty pointless at 480p … An RTX 3050 is pretty pointless at 4k ….
1440 ,
4070 super is more than good enough for 1440p fortnite
used 3090
1440P? Unfortunately there's not many offerings from Nvidia that I'd consider to be good in terms of price to performance.
A 4070 is already somewhat overkill unless you play on max settings at 1440P.
If you were to consider 4K, then I'd definitely say 4070 TI Super 16gb which is out of your budget
The 4060TI is a bit of a joke and waste of money… So I'd either go higher like the 4070 Super or stay lowerAn alternative to the 7900 GRE is the 7800XT
https://www.umart.com.au/product/asrock-radeon-rx-7800-xt-ch…RTX 3070 Ti - any of the decent OC cards are ~$700 and match or beat a RTX4070 for most usages…but a little lower power draw.
Capable of 1440p @ 60-120fps for majority of my games (Monster Hunter world at max, Dragon's Dogma 2, some FPS, some Sim).I also have a 5600x and decided against going to a 5700x as I knew it would be the same as above.
Source: I went to "upgrade" my 3070Ti only to find no changes whatsoever in performance or maybe even a loss….my day was ruined and my disappointed was immeasurable…
only benefit might be larger Memory allows for better texture handling…The 4070 should be way faster and draw less power than the 3070 Ti. Also you can't buy the 3070 Ti any more except on the second hand market.
If you want to so squeeze a bit more performance out of your current setup have a look on YouTube on how to tune your ram timings, I got a %15 fps boost just by tightening the timing on my ram. Ryzen CPUs benefit hugely from faster ram, doesn't matter as much on Intel, but it made a surprising difference for my 5600x
Good point about the memory timing
Bad take. 8GB of VRAM is a problem now for any new AAA games and will only get worse into the future. Avoid anything >=8GB.
Is this your experience or what all the articles and youtubers tell you?
I haven't had an issue as of yet with 1440p and always on max. textures (that includes dragon's dogma 2 which is a texture hog) - if I was 4K gaming it might be an issue.Besides you said "Avoid anything >=8GB" you used the wrong symbol for "less than" should be this symbol "<" for less than.
Both my own experience and what reviewers have been saying. Had a 3070 at 1440p, the last of us was unplayable on any high settings and helldivers was as well. And yeah absolutely meant avoid anything less than or equal to 8GB.
@liquornoodlescabbage: 3070 vs 3070 ti (especially the good OC cards) are very different….
I used to get similar benchmarks and fps to a stock 3080 FE. This probably alleviates any issues related to graphics memory - but honestly could play everything in my library at 1440p and max. settings and most games were ~100fps+
Thinking about radeon GRE
If you want to spend most of your budget - 7900 GRE is good value at the moment. Otherwise 7700 xt
