HPM 12 Outlet Surge Protected Powerboard, White

  • 150J surge protection with surge protection indicator, helps prevent damage to connected devices caused by inconsistencies in power supply
  • Safety overload protection - If an overload occurs, this power board has a safety cut-out, simply push to restart
  • Three wide spaced sockets for use with transformer plug packs
  • The HPM 10A 12 outlet power board has spacing for three transformer packs and is surge protected to protect devices. Connected to this power board is a 1.8m lead to get power where it is needed. Great for coordinating the home theatre and other places where multiple sockets are required.

Not the cheapest it has been, it has been cheaper - Deal 1, Deal 2 and Deal 3, but still better than RRP. Amazon have it for $55.

3 C's pricing and PriceHipster.

There is a HPM Black with RFI protection also available, but it is $46.50.

Need 3 for my entertainment room.

    • 36 outlets, you got some sort of console collection in there or what? :)

  • Arlec 12 outlet power board for $38 free shipping here https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/324497131701

    • That same board can be had at bunnings for $25 https://www.bunnings.com.au/arlec-12-outlet-power-board-with…. Both are listed as 10A 240v but the Arlec doesn't state the joule rating. I'm not knowledgeable enough to know whether you can work it out from the information they've provided, but I assume that's part of why the OP posted it.

As an aside, the black model that the OP posted to has a joule rating of 525J, which from my understanding is more like where you'd want it to be. So is probably worth the extra $ if you're going for the original HPM.

  • Lets do some basic maths :

10A power point split into 12 ports equals 0.8A each

This means that if you load up each of the 12 sockets on this board, you're limited to no more than 190w per device.
That is of course you're not using this in an old house that has all the power points tied to a single fuse at the switchboard :/

190W is fine for basically everything outside white goods. I need this in my entertainment room, modems, switches, ps5/switch/soundbar, fire tv etc.

    • For my use case it's fine, not all items will be turned on at the same time.

  • I would recommend understanding how surge protection works before investing in these
    e.g. https://blog.tripplite.com/what-are-surge-protector-joules-a…

I was very ignorant about this and almost brought the wrong stuff. Good luck!

  • The black version linked in description is 525J compared to the white's 150J

    • The black version is obviously a far better model.

      • Black powerboards matter

  • I have one of these behind my PC desk & one on my work bench. Very handy because of the adaptor spaced sockets.
