Seems like a great deal especially for the King mattress. Whilst it's not covered by the usual koala guarantee I imagine we can return this for any reason direct to Costco right?
Enjoy!

Laughing cow
Kentucky Fried Chicken
Is the chicken better at Red Rooster?
@HolyCr4p: Actually yes
I got an Ecosa and love it. Really, they're all basically the same thing.
I was a huge fan of Koala mattresses until I tried one of the Aldi box mattresses. I stayed at my BIL’s house and they had bought one for the spare bed which I used. This is years ago.
I was so immediately impressed that I decided to give one a shot long-term when they next became available less than 3 months after. I swapped out my Koala to my guest room and have been using the Aldi $250 cheapie since before covid. It’s just as good now as when I first tried it. I’m really pissed that I paid so much for my Koala.
I’ve spoken about it with friends and family and must have initiated a dozen or more purchase decisions. I’m telling you - don’t overpay for a quality sleep experience. They also withstand monotonously frequent rigorous sexual activity, the kind that might reduce a lesser mattress to a pathetic smouldering heap. A friend told me this.

"In the end, it depends on whether you want a cozy companion or a comfortable mattress. Choose wisely! "

In this instance though
Sleeping Duck, far more comfortable
Sleeping Duck - proper pocket spring mattress
This Koala model is just a big chunk of Foam

https://www.costco.com.au/member-care/refunds-and-return/wha… only mentions diamonds, bulions and hearing aids as exceptions from that policy.
Does that mean you can bring that mattress once it's out of the box and 10x the original, packed volume?
Also out of curiosity - when you buy directly from Koala or Ecosa and change your mind, do they pick up the mattress or are you supposed to give it to the nearest opshop? I once bought a memory foam mattress like this (can't remember the retailer, there used to be 10s of them, selling the same) and in case of change of mind, they would pass it on to Vinnie's or somewhere. Which is great, but also speaks volumes about how they operate, ie. it's a product manufactured for very cheap and sold with huge markup. That's a couple of years ago and different model, so no idea re this one.
When I returned my Koala couch, I wrapped up all the pieces but they arranged for a service to pick it up for free.
I suspect it's one of those marketing fluff things that doesn't really add up to much. Most people don't want to go through the hassle of switching a mattress again so unless it's truly terrible they will stick with it even if it isn't perfect. And it's a mattress, unless it's undergoing zero quality control it'll be fine for at least a year and the odds that it's worse than the 10 year old, sagging bed it replaced is very low.
Pretty much everything is manufactured cheap and sold with huge markup these days too. They spend huge dollars on marketing, sales, delivery costs, setting up the factory to produce that each individual widget (whether phone or mattress) doesn't cost much, but it needs to sell for a lot to cover all the other costs.
How are these for a heavy (110kg) sleeper? I imagine the foam would compact a lot quicker.
Anything with foam will compact over time.
<to add> much much more quicker
We had a sleeping duck, if you are anything over 65kg, forget it IMO, we returned it as I felt like I was squeezing through to China
let me know what did you changed to. need to find something for heavy sleeper
Sealy advantage firm. Its cheapish, basic, firm, comfy, good quality.
I went to SleepNow and got for memory the Luxury Coil
Better just to get 2 x king singles and join them together rather than a king.
We had a sleeping duck. Slept on it once. It's dead duck now.
It's dead duck
Good for bbq duck
Searched ebay and bought the extra firm one. $260 and satisfied. I can't imagine spending this much on mattress.
My back used to be your age.
don't waste your money, very overrated. you can buy cheaper for the same thing.
Koala or sleeping duck?
