Microsoft and Open AI to Take on NVIDIA

Do you think they have a chance of ending NVIDIA’s dominance? Or will NVIDIA be top of the game for decades to come?

They still need that fast hardware for LLM models, and unfortunately NVIDIA is the king there.
You can't replace hardware with software.

Google, Amazon and Facebook already spend to make their own chips for their private use. This is Microsoft trying the same thing. NVIDIA is also trying to become a service provider, so eventually they'll all be service providers renting out their homemade GPUs. Meanwhile, the actual chipmakers (Samsung and TSMC), will be laughing all the way to the bank.
