  • Will these be decent for blackvue dashcams?

    • +8

      Endurance one for dashcams recommended

      • Endurance says write speed of 100mb/s. My dashcam says it needs 170mb/s.

  • Glad to see these getting cheaper and cheaper.

    • Moore's Law in action :)

  • Anyone use with DJI Osmo Pocket?

    • +2

No but had difficulty using this with another DJI product. But is good for video editing.

      • Mind sharing what difficulties and what product?

        • Osmo non pocket version idk what the full name is. Sd card not the right format I believe and not compatible with the software used to record the media. Don’t ask why they don’t make it fully compatible.

I'm using the 512GB Ultimate in my DJI Action 3, and I have one of the 512GB Pro Plus arriving this week for it too. Problem seems to be that if you format it in the camera, it doesn't work properly and keeps throwing up errors. But if you format them on a PC and put them in it works fine. Weird.

    • Yes it works fine. Pocket 3

      • Also can confirm Action 3, fine if formated on PC with exFAT first.

    • Using it on pocket 3 and it works fine.

  • +1

No 15% off with purchase of 3. Good deal if you only need 1.

Anyone used this with a smart toaster? I want large storage to keep a lot of history of my toasting activities.

    • How much toasting do you do?

      • +2

Quite a lot. Maybe I should get an endurance card?

        • Definitely an Endurance card, bud.

    • There are smart Toasters?

      • +4

The joke was every SD Card deal always has people asking “will this work with <insert some random device>” instead of just checking the requirements of their device.

        • +1

Oh, we're mocking people. Good show.

      • it's a secondary effect of Zawinski's law, they evolved to use toast as a display device. Bigger SD for buffering when something is jammed.

I bought 4 for $142.85 2 weeks ago ($35.71 each). Working well in my security cameras.

Which is better …Pro plus or Evo plus?

    • +1

The Pro is better but also depends on your usage as to whether it matters.

      • Also depends on whether you are using a supported USB card reader. Chances are that if you are inserting the card directly into a device's card slot you will never see the advertised speeds from the PRO (and even the EVO may not max out either).

        • So memory cards speed is improved towards its actual advertised limits if used with a USB card reader? I would have thought it would be faster with the memory card directly in the device.

          • @Trishool: It is slower because they use a trick to achieve speeds greater than ~100MB/s (UHS-I card speed limit) and barely anything supports that.

Faster cards are built on UHS-II or other formats.

  • Would love to start seeing deals on 1TB microSD cards!!

    • Watch out though - see my comment below on Silicon Power. It had some decent reviews from quick Googling but upon reading more reviews I realise others had similar experiences where they just slow right down….

  • I'm planning on using this as an extra drive in my laptop to store things which don't need to take up space on my SSD eg movies, retro games, etc…

Recently bought a Silicon Power 1TB drive (Silicon Power 1TB microSDXC UHS-I Micro SD Card with Adapter, Up to 100MB/s Read & 80MB/s Write) but the moment the buffer is full it slows to a crawl and then pauses for ages whilst it catches up….

Has anyone found the Samsung Pro MicroSDs having similar issues?

    • Are you talking about operation during file transfers to the card from PC? How much are you trying to transfer? I can test.

      • I think even 7-8GB was enough to saturate as I was trying to install some old steam and EA games.

        • i have 2 of these one and tested the other day, my Laptop's slot has 25MBs speed ( according to the notebook check) and it was giving around 25MBs, did not slow down. i tried different file types ranging from 2gb to 25gb and it was giving same speed, read write. I am thinking about buying card reader, then i will test again.

          • @Harsh Deep: Yeah your laptop's card reader makes a huge difference. I've got a UHS-II capable drive in my new laptop so it's definitely capable of more than what the Silicon Power MicroSD can handle.

Decided to just order the Samsung drive for $40.

            • +1

@jace88: I'm pretty sure I've transferred 100GB+ with the PRO Plus holding its speed on a UHS-II card reader. Can retest when I get home.

        • +1

I was able to get the PRO Plus to sustain 110MB/s in a supported USB card reader to transfer ~200GB in about ~32 minutes.

          • @eecan: Pretty impressive. I'm going to return this Silicon Power since the performance is abysmal.

  • +1

I can't reach the page, I only get the 256gb option, is this the same for you?

  • Looks like it's been OzBargained

  • unavailable now

  • where do I get USB readers that read at max speed for these?

  • Confirming mine arrived and it has no trouble with sustained writes. Was copying 200GB of data and it maintained 80-90MB/sec throughout.
