Wow this is an excellent price for an excellent camera. Even cheaper then t-dimensions $695.76.

I can confirm this camera takes fantastic pictures. Jump on it guys! Awesome camera.

    • Just 1 question, does it worth to jump from A55? :)

does it take lenses/flash from other alpha's (being an SLT)? i got an a350 and have been looking to upgrade for a while…

    • +1

Yes, takes any Alpha mount lenses including old Minolta lenses and third parties as well. Works with any Alpha flashes as well.

  • The A65 plus twin kit lens maybe good for someone who don't already own any lenses - A65 and 18-55mm and 55-200mm lens for $818.

  • hmm my biggest gripe with the a350 was the colour reproduction… was pretty abismal, anyone know if there colours are much more vibrant in this one? went around the red centre which looked rather orange in teh photos when we got back home and viewed all the pics…

color depth 23.4 bits vs 22.6 bits
doesnt appear to be that much in it… but using totally different technologies i guess. - wouldnt have anything to do with the kit lens's would it?

hmm only negative i can see is:
    Storage: SD/SDHC/SDXC/MemoryStick Pro Duo

current camera uses CF and i got a decent CF card to go with it…

    • Hmm not to keen on the digital view finder either…

      • +1

Digital viewfinder is the future - there are many benefits of EVF you can read up on it. Personally I find Optical view finders are ancient technology.

The newer cameras color renditions are accurate and they pop. Your A350 is very old camera, time for an upgrade :-)

        • Thanks!
that certainly helps, though it will chew more batteries given the EVF…
will do a bit more reading on it today… using it with my current lenses, batteries, flash and hopefully battery grip certainly makes it a decent deal though…
just wish it took CF as well though!

  • I have this camera. Fantastic sensor, great low-light photos without needing noise reduction up to iso 1600, but with a bit of raw NR iso 3200 can be used in a pinch, and iso 6400 if the lighting is not terrible.

Steady shot is amazing. Videos are excellent, and rock steady.

My complaint would be the accuracy of the focus can be a bit hit and miss, especially compared to contrast-detection. I expect future models will improve this.

Battery life is ok, but cheap batteries can be purchased from ebay.
