"her music sucks!" - sure, give me recommendations for "GOOD Music" then, seriously everytime I ask I never get a reply
"she's a left-wi…" - go away
"all her fans are teenage crybaby unicorns" - you guys have an unhealthy obsession with crying teenagers. and unicorns.
"X and Y have superior vocal talent" - agreed, but vocal talent isn't everything
"she funds nuclear bombs" - that means all US taxpayers fund nukes
"vinyl = beanie babies" - did you get burnt by the beanie baby fad? show us your collection
"vinyl is an obsolete format, buy the cd instead and rip it"- why not skip the cds and just stream on tidal? there are also turntables with usb connections
"she's a freemason, something about Disney and clones" - yes, she is the anti-christ and bring forth the new world order because… illuminati, lizard people, chemtrails

  • great price, keep in mind it could be the 2LP Black repress, and not the Blue & Pink pressing since (i think) those are being phased out.
Order expecting black but hope to get blue & pink.

  • +13

She definitely leans in to the obsessive nature of her fans to rip them for every last cent.

    • +5

.> rip them for every last cent.

The American way….coming to large Aussie companies near you very soon.

    • +1

And they are all falling for it. This is smash avo of music world.

    • +3

Trying to paint the existence of a vinyl record as some kind of deliberately manipulative ploy, deviously concocted by the woman herself rather than an inherent inevitability brought about by the exploitative nature of consumerism seems…disingenuous.

      • +4

Multiple releases of the same albums with different artwork or 1 extra song. Mine was a general comment not pertaining to vinyl as such, which you seem to have misinterpreted.

        • +4

She definitely leans in to the obsessive nature of her fans

"She" isn't making ground-level decisions on any of this, and it's absolutely comical that you'd think otherwise. But sure, you write without precision and then it's everyone else's vault when people start very inconsiderately holding you to the words you use - cool and normal stuff there, champ 👍

          • +1

@sob baget: Even if that's true(doubtful) surely shes aware of it.
Also she cancelled a concert in Bangkok 3 weeks out and chose the cash on offer from Singapore instead of going back this year.

            • +2

@Ozbargainite: I'm no fan, but are you confusing her taking the money from Singapore to play there in 2024 with her cancelling her tour to Bangkok in 2014 following their military coup? Singapore was always sold as the only date in SE Asia on the recent tour, there was advertising for it everywhere.

Swifties love to part with their money for her, but so do lots of other people with their favourite artists. She's hardly invented something, the recording industry was already filled with people very adept at taking as much as they can from the fans of their artists.

        • -5

Not only that. But this is landfill at best.

    • +2

Eh vinyls may just be beanie baby's, funkpops etc - artificially scarcity collectible money grabs, but it ain't a Taylor Swift thing and she didn't start it. It's a record label and industry thing

    • +4

      Artist sells art.

  • +2

"why not skip the cds and just stream on tidal?" - why not skip tidal and download the mp3s?

    • +2

why not skip tidal and download the mp3s FLACs?

      • Because 320kbps mp3 is good enough and uses much less space.

        • Spotify is good enough

  • +3

"And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate…"

  • Ah here we go again!

  • +3

I really enjoy reading OzBargain, the deals are good, the comments are even better value :)

    • Absolutely. I have no interest in this bargain. I came for the comments.

  • YouTube free

    • Sound quality sucks on YouTube free. It's very noticeable next to even Spotify.

  • +2

“Never get a reply for good music”
Not true. Gave you one last time, though if you think swift is good music you prob won’t like it.

    • +8

I didn't ask you. I'm talking about the idiotic parent comments. I can like Swift and Slayer and Snoop and Silverchair and Sia and SZA and Solange and SBTRKT and Slayyyter and ScHoolboy Q and DJ Shadow, all at the same time.

      • +2

I haven't heard of 80% of the artists you listed.

        • I haven't heard of mondorock /s

  • Best product description

BTW WTF is blue and pink vs black?

  • +6

Alright that’ll do with these Swift Vinyls, didn’t realise her publicist was on OzBargain. Moving on.

    • +1

Post some deals yourself if you want something different.

  • +2

No hate but Swift is too rich for a bargainer like me to support her financially. Do it if you want to donate to the US through her.

  • +2

""$63 is too expensive" - yes i agree, but that's how it is" - not that expensive when you consider that a CD typically was $30 in the early 90s, which is $67 in today's dollars.

  • +3

    I appreciate this write-up, OP!

Unfortunately the people who need to read it, won't.

  • -1

    @rickdwp thoughts?

    • Manufactured waste is still manufactured waste :)

  • -2

Good music? Hmm, beatles, pink floyd, queen, daft punk, midnight oil, cold chisel, dire straits, vulfpeck, jimi hendrix, GnR, MJ, Amy winehouse, Florence & machine, prince, george michael, the doors, pearl jam, red hot chilli peppers, crowded house, powderfinger, fleetwood mac, rolling stones.

They all have more musical ability in their toenails than tay tay.

    • -2

      Well said

    • +3

I own half of the artists you listed on vinyl. The other half is stuff I hear on the radio and recognise the talent, but won't buy them on vinyl. I'm capable of liking multiple things.

When someone posts something I don't like, or don't find interesting, I just ignore it and move along. I don't make unnecessary comments because it'd be a complete waste of everyone's time

      • He specifically said "give me examples of good music"

So in the end, the most unnecessary comment ended up being your one.

        • -1

I was going to leave this post, but I'm not sure what you're saying. Lets start here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/835345 where some dude just keeps going on and on about the cover art and music, but when asked for a recommendation, they deflect and don't answer.

Then here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/840444 they keep going on about how it's not a deal, even when given proof. The something something Trump 2024. Taylor Swift is left wing propaganda. And other stupid shit that has nothing to do with the deal.

Then I post this: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/840755 which was fun and interesting to begin with, but then the red hats arrive and it turns to shit again. Only 13-15 year olds listen to TS and they're all crybabies. Rainbow unicorns. Snowflakes. Someone gets challenged with a simple question of what they listen to, but of course they shrink away and never answer. I ask someone what album I should buy instead and they don't answer. Vinyl is obsolete, NOT A DEAL! TS funds nuclear weapons. Freemasons, Disney, clones? and the end of the thread gets nuked by the mods.

Now we have this post. Same people come and pour shit all over it. A whole section is deleted by the mods. This is not a deal AGAIN despite the proof. Armchair economists discuss inflation and cost of living. "go woke, go broke!" I say I'm going to buy a keyboard instead and get grilled by some unhinged idiot, and I honestly don't know what he's talking about. Another section gets nuked by the mods.

Then I post this: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/841216 and it's civil, people are helpful, and share their experiences. No drama whatsoever.

Now you reply to my comment and I have nfi what you're trying to say. Apologies if my comment seems rude or snarky. I just woke up and haven't had my breakfast beer and cigarette.

    • Yet they didn’t achieve the same success? Damn.

      • You said "good" not "commercially more successful"

The 2 are not necessarily linked.

  • +3

The only Swifties I respect are the fans of Phil Swift.

Not even Taylor can handle the sheer power of Flex Tape.

  • +2

"it's too expensive but that's the way it is"?? That's because you keep paying this price! It's not inflation with this, it's exploitation! She gets rich, you get poor… And you're happy with it!
    FFS wake up people!!

    • The same people who buy these are the ones that will moan about cost of living.

      • But i can't pay my mortgage, petrol is too expensive, electricity is killing us, food costs too much and can't feed kids….
Oh hey…. LOOK! A new T.S vinyl came out at RRP-full price… Lets post it on ozB and buy it…. Trying to think of a reason to justify paying for this crap…. Oh wait! It's worth ot because it's T.S!! Lets go broke.
As the saying goes, go woke you go broke!

        • This is why I don’t think this is a good deal! Maybe if it was at $2 then maybe That’s a good deal

        • +1

Oh hey…. LOOK! A new T.S vinyl came out at RRP-full price.

Price History at CamelCamelCamel. $10 off lowest price.

    • You're absolutely right. I'm going to cancel my order and get a mech keyboard instead.

      • Do you listen to your T.S vinyl record 10hours a day, EVERY day of the week?
        You're so sore

        • I have 100s of records. 3 are TS

          • +1

@rosebank: Ok. Do you listen/play your records 10hours+ a day, every day of the week? Do they make you or help you make a living, make money? Because that's what my mech keyboard does. Not the one i posted mind you. But you pick that post out and narc it, when in fact that could've helped people with their job, at home or jobsite.
If you can't handle criticism, don't read the comments and cry.

            • +1

@teddiebear: What are you talking about? I'm legit going to post a mech kb deal. I've posted a few in the past

              • @rosebank: You said "You're absolutely right. I'm going to cancel my order and get a mech keyboard instead". So, what are you talking about? You have your wires crossed mate.
Reply to a comment when you actually have something to say, more than a one-line petty childish cry like you've been leaving.

                • @teddiebear: I just posted a mech kb deal which I actually bought. Talking to you is quite strange; always accusing people of crying, not making any sense, something something rainbow unicorn.

            • -1

@teddiebear: Any cheap keyboard can earn you that money lol. Grow up, people like different things, not everyone has to conform to your likes old man

  • +2

Oh man, I can't wait for when they start re releasing music on cassette tapes and sell me the same album in a new niche vintage format.

    • +3

At a premium price to boot. Damn i miss walkmans lol bring back the 80's

    • +2

Everyone knows casette tapes are a cursed low point of the media. Being said it wouldn't surprise me. Vinyl has a charm to it I get collecting it but have other priorities like the mortgage.

      • You can slap a TS cover on turd and people will pay $60 for it.

    • +3

Artists have already started releasing on cassettes again, hell I even saw an EP released last month and it was digital or cassette release, no vinyl. Shame the people buying cassettes didn't live through the 80's the first time round to understand how sh1t they were/are.

One born every minute, as the old saying goes.

      • I bought my first cassette in 2019 (hardcore punk band)

  • +1

Thanks for posting, OP. I think this completes the collection until TTPD is released next week.

  • sure, give me recommendations for "GOOD Music" then, seriously everytime I ask I never get a reply

    then

"X and Y have superior vocal talent" - agreed, but vocal talent isn't everything

So you actually get recommendations, but you just don't like them.

    • Nah, that was just a throwback to my last post where some rando said Mariah Carey and Celine Dion were better vocalists, and I agreed with them.

    • -1

Proves his taste is 💩 lmao
