Similar thoughts from me. This is a great flashlight. I have owned Sofirn flashlights for 3 years, including the non-pro version of this model. All still work and as good as the day they were delivered. Also bought my 2nd SC31 using this deal. Bargain.

Such a good torch. My go to for everything. Get a magnetic tail cap on it from aliexpress and it makes it even more useful.

    • Didn't know that was a thing! That's awesome!

    • Link?

This torch has been cheaper on aliexpress , if you haven’t bought anything there in a while using their welcome vouchers .

But then they’re always jacking up prices only to discount them again , so you never know .

Just search back through Ozbargain’s old sofirn deals for comparison .

Otherwise great torch and Amazon is the hassle free option .

Bought one. It died within 6 months, no warranty info on the webpage, no way to contact the seller. No response from Amazon.

    • Can you call Amazon? I haven’t have to do it myself, but it’s probably the fastest. Warranty or not, 6 months is too soon for a flashlight to die, acl would cover that.

    • Did you try chat with Amazon?

    • They (Az) like to bury contact/complaint stuff quite deeply but it's there if you dig. Should be a link in your order to contact/provide feedback to seller. I've used it to request a secific (unadvertised) torch colour if available (it was, and they swapped with the advertised black). Vivi at Sofirn is usually very responsive. Bol

    • Thanks all for the help. When it died, after not much use, I spent more money bought a new battery, waited for it etc. I spent a couple of hours originally trying to contact them. Waited for a response. Now it's prob 12-14 months along so I gave up.

    • Not negating your experience but sharing mine - I'm a bit of a torch collector and have purchased 43 Sofirn over the last six years, including an SC31 Pro and not a single issue with any of them.

      • Thanks. So with the one I bought, the light has become really dull. With torches I bought years ago, I found the switches die first as the plastics seem to break down. The more recent ones , last 12 months, the light just fades until useless. I've swapped batteries to make sure that's not an issue. (Even new torches I'm buying aren't projecting as far as brightly as the earlier similar models.)

      • Also what's your recommendation as best value. So far the little Nitecore TIP torches have been best value to me, but I'd like something stronger.

Am I the only person that far prefers tail cap buttons?

    • +1

It’s a no from me. Find them awkward to use, much prefer the side button for making adjustments to brightness frequently etc. More ergonomic. And with the SC31 you can set the button to be illuminated green all the time, so you can always find it easily.

    • Depends on how I'm using it really.

A tail switch is (usually) certainly easier to locate in the dark and switch on. Well, I guess basing that on my round torches with mostly electronic switches these days.

But a side switch can also easier to switch modes if just walking along and not really changing positions much.

    • Yes, tail caps are good as less accidental activation

    • Yes I hate side switches. If you're using a basic program then much easier to hold with thumb on tail cap. Could be just a particular use case though.

  • This was still available for me at AUD$34.99 at 7:28am 12 Apr 2024. The offer has not expired. Similarly other Sofirn flashlights are still on sale.

    • +1

Thanks, removed expired. Must have restocked.

      • Once purchased, the coupon is not available to use again. That may be why others reported it was expired/out of stock. Not sure if you can increase the number of units when you make your purchase to get more than 1.

        • +1

With Amazon, it sometimes restocks coupons as well as the item. You’d often see people commenting stuff back in stock. There are also people who buy now, think later, and cancel eventually.

  • +1

Now showing as currently unavailable - must be out of stock for real this time.

    • Can confirm - also seeing Amazon report the item as 'Currently unavailable'.

  • had it for a long time, best in class small torch

  • The mark up has expired, now it’s down to $39.99 without coupons.
