iPhone 12 Mini 5G 64GB $659, 128GB $739, 256GB $919 Delivered for Existing Customer (New Customer Add $30 Starter Kit) @ amaysim

220

Probably the cheapest brand new ones for iPhone 12 mini at the moment compared to Amazon, JB hifi, Officeworks and other shops.

No lock in contracts so you can use any network you like but you do have to buy one off $30 Amaysim prepaid starter kit. Some existing Amaysim customers can buy the phone without having to purchase the $30 starter kit.

Yeah, wish we could have a time machine to go back to purchase it, just kidding, lol.

    • Great deal.. using mine for work now. lol

    • I hope the upcoming SE will be the new mini but according to leaks it's unlikely.

    • Using it right now, best deal

Pretty much the same pice as they were 18 months ago………

I would expect these prices for 13mini.

    • Yes, it's strange they don't sell them online in Officeworks nor JB hifi.

Can’t seem to find new 13 minis anywhere. Had to hand in my 12 mini when changing jobs so bought a refurb 128 GB 13 mini
from boost.. Reasons longer battery on a charge, faster and better camera.
Not a mark on it but 85% battery.
So ironically on battery performance like a new 12 mini.

      • 85% battery.

does it not throttle at 85%?

        • +1

I think he means battery health

          • +1

@mavis30551: yeh 85% health’s the cutoff for throttling

Apple probably learnt their lesson with the 12 mini hence they did not manufacture that many 13 mini. I guess that's why once they're gone, then they're gone. I been trying to find myself a new 13 mini too and it's almost impossible.

      • What “lesson” are you referring to here?

        • +3

          Small phones apparently don’t sell.

Honestly there’s a bunch of people that like them, just release one every 2nd or 3rd generation

          • @Diminuendo: This ^
Asus learnt the same lesson with their zenfone lineup

          • @Diminuendo: Yeah.. just depends on the person I suppose. I went towards big screens since the Galaxy Note 1 and haven’t gone back since. But I don’t mind a secondary / work phone to be smaller (I came from a SE Xperia 5 mini) for something easier to move around in and will probably share the same pocket with my bigger main phone.

But yeah, you are right in saying it is pretty niche.. but then again, the standard iPhone and the “mini” isn’t that much difference in size these days - about 20% differences in volume and weight. Other than price, there’s not much value proposition to save that 20% for the smaller model I suppose.

Oh boy, almost $1k for 4y old phone…

of coz! its an Apple iPhone

People buy this for the form factor.
Flagship (then) performance in a small form factor.
Battery suffers compared with bigger phones unfortunately. Damn you laws of physic but a small segment of the population want that size.

      • OK, but you said it well - THEN.

What about now? Is it worth now $900?

        • +2

Well if you want a small phone, then yes.

I'm still using a 12 mini and I think it's a great phone. No sign of being old or slowing (yet). If this was a 13 mini I'd probably upgrade just to get another mini iPhone. RIP.

Banned in France due to excess radiation emissions.

That was the full size iPhone 12, not the mini. And it was fixed 6 months ago.
