Hey everyone,

My name is Billy, and if you don’t already know me, I’m the founder and CEO of DailyPuzzles.

It’s with a heavy heart that I am announcing that we are closing down DailyPuzzles. After 8 years of operation and proudly serving the cubing community, we unfortunately have come to a point where current economic conditions have put us in a position where we can no longer afford to keep the business operational and we are going to close on the 17th of April 2024.

I want to take a moment to thank all of our customers, supporters, sponsors and staff for everything that they have done, not only for DailyPuzzles, but me personally over these past 8 years. I started this business at 16 years old with $200 out of my bedroom and never expected it would turn into even a small amount of what it became. I am sincerely grateful for the opportunity I had to serve the cubing community for these years. It’s been a privilege and I will carry these memories with me forever.

We are running a closing down sale of 60% off sitewide* (excluding clothing) while we remain operational and encourage anyone who has loyalty points or gift cards to redeem them now.
I know many of you will have questions and we will do our best to address them promptly via email.

Thank you to each and everyone of you who supported our journey, whether it was placing an order or following us on social media- you are the reason we got to do this.

    • Why do people/corpos even give such huge loans to such a young guy?

      • $5m income in the last 3 yrs and can't survive? due to the debt and rate and drop in sale I assume.

      It sounded like he made the mistake of expansion too fast. It happens to many businesses, even large successful looking ones. Some of the more supportive comments in that reddit thread are that he has youth on his side and that he can be successful once again.

      • Covid lockdown drove sales but how many speed cubes do Australians need? It should have been completely predictable that sales would peak and decline but business man hussle fantasy world dictates you can just keep up sales growth till the heat death of the universe.It's a niche hobby. It's not that he expanded too fast, it's that he never was viable to expand to that size in the first place.

        A hobby can be the subject of a viral craze but that can't last, and you'll go back to selling to a small community. But instead of planning for that, unfortunately, he chose to buy inventory no one wanted and expand into a warehouse that was too big even for that, while getting into massive debt instead of paying the debt he had down.

        I feel for the guy. He's passionate and he made a go of it, but man the mistakes were huge and unfortunately I don't see how it could have gone any other way.

    Thing I wanted the most was the LingAo Master Magic 12 Panel.
    As I filled my basket saw it drop from 3 to 2, 2 to 1. Then no dice!

  • Just wanted to say I really like your cubes and great service. Walked into school for speed cube comp and everyone using your cube is an eye opener.
    The experience may turn into something bigger and better in the future.

    Hey everyone,

    I just wanted to write a quick update to thank each and every person who has shown support since our announcement of closing down yesterday. The support has been overwhelming and I am grateful in my heart for every message.

    As you may imagine, we have been flooded with hundreds of messages and emails so it will take longer than usual for us to reply. I've put a small FAQ below to answer some common questions that I've seen pop up:

    1) Is this a delayed April fools?
    Unfortunately it isn't, we are closing down on the 17th of April 2024

    2) Will you restock?
    No, the only stock we will have available is what is on the website sadly.

    3) When will my order be shipped?
    Due to the influx of orders we received, we estimate it will take us 2-4 business days to dispatch your order

    4) Can I make changes to my order?
    Yes, however due to the hundreds of emails we received overnight we may not be able to make changes before dispatching your order. We recommend emailing us directly and putting 'Urgent Order Change' in the subject line to get our attention quickly

    5) If I place an order on the day you close down, will it still be shipped?
    Yes, every single order will be shipped out as long as you receive an order confirmation after purchase

    Our stock is selling out fast, so if you see something you want we recommend not waiting as we understand some of you may have already missed out on some items. As mentioned yesterday, everything is 60% off sitewide (excluding clothing) until we close

  • 9 days in and no sign of my order shipping. Did anyone get theirs? Not looking good!

    • well I sent an email asking what's up and a couple of hours later I get a shipping notification. Strange coincidence but good to know there's still some one there looking after customers.

  • Well it's April 29th and the web site still appears to be operating. I'm not game to go through the checkout though. Anyone know what's going on?
