chucks are good if going flat helped you with your plantar fasciitis. Make sure you order one size up to allow your toes to spread out freely.

Just putting this out there for my plantar fasciitis friends who are running out of options :)

    • +1

I size down, which I almost never do, but these run large. Do you have wide feet?

      • +1

Not really but our feet are not meant to be pointy like shoes, so size up to leave some room for your toes to spread more naturally!

Chucks are a bit bigger than other brands but I'd still size up from what you think is the right size for you, specially if you have plantar fasciitis

        • +4

Uh okay, but they run large and the advice is to typically size down, I did so and I have plenty of room. YMMV.

@LurkMoar: Yeah, they look like clown shoes if they are too big

    • They are too narrow and hard on your feet, shame no half sizes at hype. Not buying them anymore.

Look at the cx models, new improved insole, with cushioning!

some very tempting designs on offer, but luckily nothing special in size 13

Free legendary zero support….buy something sensible.

    • +2

The 70 is quite a bit better than the regular for support and comfort.

  • So whats the story with size? If im 9US for adidas etc….

    • They run big, I'd go down half a size down ie. 8.5 US

Unless you have wide feet, then better to go for 9

    • I'm 11 for adidas and I wear a size 10. You can use the sizing chart to see how long they are and compare the pair.

    • I'm a 12 in Continentals and 11 1/2 in Forums but an 11 in my CTs. YMMV.

    • I'm sure you can try them on anywhere but correct, one size down. (US9 in Nike US8 in converse)

Bought a pair of the thick soled ones, can't tell if I love them or hate them, but for $50 I'll take that risk

    • +1

Haha, made the exact same move! Fingers crossed :)

      delivery or pick up ;)

      • Unfortunately I am a mediocre ozbargainer and a liar of the highest order, not only did I choose shipping, I did not include it in my spending claim.

  • Lucky I picked up that Midnight Clover a while back.

    • nice green shoe, looks like most of the sizes are gone, im thinking the CONVERSE CHUCK 70 WOODMARK C as its different

      • Yeah thought it was a pretty unique green, so glad I waited for it to go on sale before (it's been $50 for a few weeks now) - nearly pulled the trigger at $89.99.

Nearly got me, I don't need em and I have weirdo feet so I really need to try stuff on first. Good price tho.

  • Click and collect doesn't seem to be available in Perth, so you have to add $12 for shipping, which puts it up to the price on Catch.

    • +1

Add other items to make $150, then return what you don't need in store for free at your own convenience.

    • I just picked up mine from Perth CBD.

      • How though? I entered 6000 as my postcode and every single option nearby is "unavailable". I tried a few different postcodes and they all gave the same result.

        • All I could tell you is that I purchased them shortly after the deal was posted, I can't speculate on the reasons why you are unable to C+C.

  • +1

There's actually a whole bunch of Reebok shoes for $50 as well.

what a dumb website, "You have been blocked.", cause
    * You are browsing and clicking at a speed much faster than expected of a human being (nope, i did it in 8 seconds) or
    * blocking JavaScript (of course: uBlock) or
*There is a robot on the same network (only a Roomba)
Screw their garbage fingerprinting efforts, instead of using something like Cloudflare. Then I simply opened it in Brave and it worked. Amateurs…

    • I have uBlock and never ran into issues getting blocked. Sounds like a you problem…

      • -1

Sweetheart the problem is your ego ;-)

        • I don't see any other complaints here ¯_(ツ)_/¯

  • +1

Oh yeah and if anybody is interested in the Converse x Comme des Garcons Chuck 70 collab, Catch has them for cheap:

    High top milk/white - $95
    Low top milk/white - $130

    High top black - $135
    Low top black - $135

  • Always watch Converse.com.au for bargains.
I've bout about 30 pairs of special editions over the last 24 months and haven't paid more than $70 a pair.
Can't wear 70's though as they are too narrow.

    • +1

none of them are really worth more than $50-70, pretty basic canvas.. bad for your feet (hard and narrow).

      • +1

Yeah I personally wouldn't load up on them either. Especially for kids. A few staple colours for certain aesthetics is all you need if you want a certain look, then again they've already destroyed my feet anyway, but they won't take my kids' though!

        • It's a shame most stores don't stock the half sized, meant to accommodate a bit more width (but same length). Converse online do.
Like you say, the OG ones have that really good classic/low profile look and great with shorts and jeans but just bloody hard soles.
They were almost the perfect shoe to take as a single pair with carry-on to SE Asia. I don't think I would again though if doing a lot of walking.

I grabbed about 3 pairs of the All Star CX in different colours for $50 last year, probably shouldn't have got any. The soles are much better and bouncy, and only compress 5% over time, but still narrow. Should get rid of them sometime, too many boxes.

      • Mate so true. Anyone with flat and or wide feet miserable time in these things.
