  • Great price. Anyone knowing if these works in reolink 811a? Says 256 but see example that the nvr supports more then it says. Just wondering if newer firmware support it.

    • Got one anyways. Can always upgrade my tablet.

    • +1

I read in reddit post, it records fine until it reaches the max configured capacity of 256gb and then stops recording. Better off get the 256gb version.

      • wonder if any benefit over 256gb version like increased write cycles considering this deals similar cost, ideally should be getting endurance cards

  • +4

Being an owl finally pays off!

    • +11

      I bet it's a hoot

    • waiting for better deal usually pay off :)

  • i bought 2 Pro Plus from last deal for $78 today and these are $58 for 2, now i am confused should i cancel those 2 or not, after cashrewards they were 2 for $72.
Don't know what to do and how are these compared to Pro Plus, except these says only 130Mb Read vs 180MB for Pro, which also states write speed of 130mb.

    • +3

If you are using it for USB file transfers with a supported USB card reader then the Pro Plus will be faster. Do note that the advertised speeds above ~100MB/s are only achievable through a proprietary protocol that isn't necessarily supported by card readers that can take much faster cards e.g. UHS-II V90 cards. If you pick up any random card reader or use the SD card slot on your laptop then chances are that they will be limited to ~100MB/s.

If you are using it for almost anything else e.g. camera, switch, steam deck then there will be no discernible difference

    • +2

      Keep the PRO Plus cards

They are the true "EVO Plus" (EVO Select is the Amazon exclusive version of the EVO Plus) cards with the top spec NAND

Current EVO Plus / EVO Select had a stealth NAND downgrade last year as mentioned in one of the previous deals

These cards won't die immediately but if you use them in continuous writing/high controller usage/high temperature conditions, they will fail quicker than the PRO Plus

So besides keeping backups when using these cards, ask yourself whether you're storing valuable data that will be a PITA to recover/restore if it ever fails

  • +15

PS: if you purchase 3+, the discounted stacks for 15% off.

    • +8

$78 shipped for three 😳 thanks for the heads up!

    • +10

Feel free to post a 1TB microSD card that is cheaper per GB and the same speed or faster…

    • +1

If you have an iPhone, 512GB is enough to store your entire photo, video and movie collection.

      • 64GB: limited storage space.
      • 128GB: enough for basic use.
      • 256GB: enough for the average user.
      • 512GB: store your entire photo, video, and movie collection.
      • 1TB: never worry about storage space and store photos in Apple ProRAW.
        Source

Buy two and you don't even need iCloud, I guess.

      • +1

512GB is enough to store my entire photo, video and movie collection.

      • +2

I'll have you know my iPhone 5C with 8GB (of which 3.5/4ish is useable) is still rocking with a few albums, the GTA trilogy, COD Zombies, Minecraft, Goat Sim, Crazy Taxi, and a couple others to boot.

        Y'all be spoiled this days.

    • +1

This isn't a replacement for your PC's main storage.

  • -2

Would these be dodgy, 2tb for under $30?

  • +4

This is an unbelievable deal, its cheaper than the 256gb equivalent.

    • +1

it is believable, sooner 1GB gonna be at this price :)

  • +1

It's saying $39 is the normal price
    So discounted by about $9

    • +1

With stacked discounts it works out to $26.17 each if you get 3 in one go

      • +1

Just like back in the late '00s!

  • It's a great price.

  • +1

    Insane, bought 3, thanks op

  • Would these be fine to store ROMS on for my emulated games collection. WIll be inserting into my Alldocube tablet? Does SD card speeed matter when playing more graphic intensive games on the PS2 and Gamecube?

    • +3

It will be fine. Consider that PS2 and GameCube are read of optical discs which are much slower read rate than this.

      • +2

Wii U, Switch and 3DS also use micro/SD cards in their original consoles. So yeah, can’t see an issue for PS2 and GC at all.

      • -1

You both are missing an important point. Emulation of the upper end of systems needs shader-cache. Loading these needs faster read speeds than the original consoles needed.

Not saying this SD Card will have an issue, but saying "read of optical discs which are much slower read rate than this" or that the Switch loads from an SD Card isn't relevant.

    • +1

I've used the cheapest shittiest USBs I had floating around for Game Cube games numerous times when jumping between devices and never had an issue. You should be fine.

    • Yes, these run fine on my Steam Deck and and Odin Lite with the same speeds. No issues at all, also fine in a Switch

  • +2

    Thanks, bought 10

  • +3

Anyone in Melb SE suburbs(or can meet in the CBD) want to split an order of 3(I'm happy to keep 1 or 2, $26 each)

      • +1

Saving my way to a four-tune.

  • +1

After reading alot of reviews, seems like these are prone to failure, so cancelled my order.

    • True and the odd fake one ppl seem to get here and there >.>

    • +2

You read 77,000+ reviews with average of 4.7/5 rating from a known reputable brand and seller and decided to cancel?

      • +2

I have older samsung sd cards that have lasted half a decade, it just seems the newer sd cards are just not the same quality samsung sd cards used to be.

i think id rather get 2x 512gb pros than 3x these selects.

      • +1

Also count the fact that a lot of peoples cards probably fail after 1-2 years and wouldn’t write a review…. I mean I probably wouldn’t. Alongside a lot of Amazon accounts seem to have issues when people write bad reviews.
This has been my first purchase from Amazon since about 5 months back due to shit customer service and change of how they do things more or less

  • good deal.

  • Is this card suitable for gopro, DSLR and Tablet? reading some reviews and they're saying to get the EVO Pro

    • +3

For cameras PRO Plus is a waste of money.

GoPro doesn't require anything faster than an EVO Plus. As far as I know there is no action camera that uses anything faster than a V30 card.

DSLR/Mirrorless? Absolutely no need for PRO Plus, I have tested in camera and the Samsung PRO Plus behaves almost identically to an EVO Plus in Sony A1, Sony A6700, Sony A7IV, Sony RX100 VII, Canon R6ii (Same story with the UHS-I/V30 Sandisk Extreme PRO).

      • Thank you!

    • This SD card speed class is A2 U3 V30

      According to https://www.kingston.com/en/blog/personal-storage/memory-car…

V30 is already capable for 8k videos, so I believe it should be good enough doing 4K videos in most action cameras or even DSLR

      • Unfortunately my old Nikon z6 doesn’t support sd. Wait for the release of z73…

    • I use mine for my a7iii.
They are absolutely fine for normal shooting in 95% of occasions.
In very extreme shooting situations where you are doing constant rapid back to back burst shots and shooting raw you may notice the buffer takes longer to clear than a faster card.

  • My delivery estimate is for 27 April (seems kinda long). How accurate are these international Amazon delivery estimates?

    • +1

My experience is it usually comes slightly earlier than estimation but probably a few days early

    • Took 1 week for me. Same product.

  • can not resist at this price pulled trigger bought 2

  • Got one to go with the recent steam deck deal, cheers OP.

  • +1

Bought 3, $78.49 delivered, arriving by 25th April. Noice. Thanks OP! :)

  • Would this be fine for an indoor cam?

    • Asking for a friend…

      • bit the bullet..

"Most of the cards we tested had a V30 rating, so they have a sequential write speed of at least 30 MB/s. This should be enough to support up to 4K video at lower bitrates. Higher-rated V60 and V90 cards are usually better for capturing 8K, but they come at a much higher cost."

My indoor camera is max 2K resolution.

    • Constantly recording? No.

Only recording when movement is detected? Yes.

      • Bro likeeeeee.. I literally bought it just before reading your message.. Oh well

        • Username checks out

  • +3

i dont need it! but bought 3… haha

  • +1

For an extra $10 you can also get the Samsung Pro Plus 512GB

    https://www.amazon.com.au/SAMSUNG-microSD-MicroSDXC-MB-MD512…

    • +2

      That's extra $10 each though for 3x

    • Is it any faster than the other one?

  • My God! they are basically giving these away.

  • Thanks OP, excellent deal, nabbed 5

  • +2

    Read write speeds:
    https://www.engadget.com/best-microsd-card-130038282.html

The Samsung Evo Select is a clear step behind our top picks, particularly when it comes to sequential write speeds (just under 70 MB/s on CrystalDiskMark)

    • thanks!

    • +1

The catch is that the top read/write speeds from their top picks are only achieved with supported USB card readers so the vast majority of users won't see any benefit. UHS-I cards which both the Samsung PRO Plus and PRO Ultimate are limited to ~100MB/s and they use hacks to get around the around the limit which aren't supported by basically any devices (only specific USB card readers).

Benchmark results from a UHS-II card reader:

      EVO Select https://imgur.com/w4okHlQ
      PRO Plus: https://imgur.com/noWMdBN

The card reader is capable of handling much faster cards e.g. Prograde V90 https://imgur.com/oO3o5Lv

  • Thanks Op! Bought 3
One for dashcam, other two for hero 12 and DSLR

    • +2

Typically need an endurance card for dashcams.

      • +2

But 512GB might be fine on a dashcam, less number of re-write, than a 32 GB card.

        • +2

Maybe, heat also an issue too I guess.

          • @LoftyAu: Not sure about that as plus and endurance both have the same heat resistance according to the Samsung website.
Then again I managed to cook two endurance with Raspberry Pi + HA. It's all about rewrites in my understanding.

        • What are you using a dashcam for?

To reliably record video data that will potentially save you hundreds to thousands of dollars when making a claim to insurance, police and/or lawyers

Saving <$50 on a non endurance card is the type of "saving" that smart OzBargainers avoid

          • @Look Up: I've always been a gambling man…

  • +1

88% claimed and I'm still procrastinating.

    • +2

Been procrastinating so many things for so so long and sick of it.. this is the best price to this date and been holding off buying a card for 6 months. The time is now. When I've got this, other projects can get done too.

      • +1

Inspirational lol. You got me. Bought.

    • +2

Same haha trying to figure out whether I have 3 use cases for this or just be realistic and get 1

      • +2

        3 or none at all!

        • +1

          Why wouldn’t you?
