  • I bought the stands $199 2 years ago. This is a good price.

  • This or samsung 990c for movies?

    • Depends on the dimensions of your media room.

I already have the stands and have a random secondary use case for them. they are actually perfect height for a piano keyboard at 66cm making the keys sit at about 72cm which is in the standard height range for a keyboard.

  • Where does it say free stand?

Cool speakers, I have too many already otherwise I'd buy these.

Damn, that's a great price. I bought mine s3000pro without stands for 499$ before covid, many moons ago. Still going strong. Have added JBL 305P, another great near field in a small size.

The only issue is, they don't have enough bass for my liking. Even the small JBL have more punch to them. That's why I use a Rel T9x with my setup.

I just realized these are mk2, not sure what the difference is.

    • I have a similar speaker but how do you connect S3000Pro to a subwoofer?

      • Through a DAC, Gustard x16

  • I love these speakers but have had a set replaced twice as the wifi between speakers dies. Now they are properly dead and I can't use the left speaker at all now the warranty has run out. Parts for them are impossible to find to fix them. Replaced them with the s2000 but they are just not as good.

IMO a set of powered monitor speakers and a dac are much better. Have the Kali LP-8's now and they are in another league compared to these.

      the wifi between speakers dies

Took me a bit to realise this pair connects wirelessly via "propriety 5.8 GHz connection", ie. no need for a cable between the speakers. Just pointing out it's not wifi.

      • It is a wireless connection using Kleernet technology, so not connected to you router. I suppose WiFi has become the shorthand for any wireless network like velcro is for any hook and loop system.

The wireless cards in the speakers are what seems to fail. I was able to remove one of them, clean it and get it working for a short while but didn't take long to start cutting out and eventually not working at all.

The part is almost impossible to find for a reasonable price in Australia so was disappointed I couldn't get them working again.

        • Bummer with the that wireless bit.

Also, I never heard anyone calling a non-wifi connection wifi. Better don't confuse it with other wireless tech. It's like arbitrarily stating that you're going to call all cars SUV. Might be confusing to most peeps. Different to the velcro situation, as we're not calling eg. glue "velcro" despite glue sticks things.
