    Seems to be old versions?

Photo Commander 8, when version 10 is the current version.
Snap 4, when Snap 6 is the current version.

    • That's why they're giving them away for free. Once you install prepare to be bombarded with emails to upgrade to latest version.

  • +2

Free is free, they're giving away old versions so you'll buy the new ones :)

Ashampoo Burning studio is my favorite burning program. Awesome work

    • Ashampoo Burning studio = all burn no bs. Great program.

    • totally agree!

  • Thanks for this… I grabbed Burning Studio 12

I mistakenly used my real address when signing up for an Ashampoo product a few years ago.

    Biggest.Mistake.Of.My.Life.

Do they send out free shampoo samples every month or something?

    • Agreed. I think the spam is not worth the freebie, unless you use a disposable email address.

      • use a free gmail account for this purpose

        • +1

hushmail is better… those accounts close after a few weeks/months of inactivity I believe.

        • will try out
          sick of spam
          in yahoo
          gmail
iinet & ozemail are the most primitive and I got sucked in because they pretended to have industrial strength spam filters
but the webmail is the crappiest
          and their service on this abysmal;
hushmail is good, diceware, but am too old to take time with this new toy for now.
          great suggestion!

there are people who dont use a disposable email address?

      • You still need to use an email address you can access the free code.

    • Ahhh crap… I just used my real email address hahaha… Whoops

    • to Quasi Human^

I wish signing up for an Ashampoo was the Biggest.Mistake.Of.My.Life too but some people including myself made worse mistakes :)

    • I've purchased from them in the past…they seem to be respecting my newsletter settings. Absolutely they spam you by default, but I'm sure there was an unsubscribe link in the emails you could follow and I can't recall the last time I got anything from them after an initial barrage of almost daily emails.

PITA I'm sure, but could be worse.

these programs are no good without conditioner

  • Where do I get the serial keys?

    Figured it out, see below.

  • +1

Thanks! Burning Studio 12 is a great product. Will try Photo Commander too.

  • Ashampoo Snap is pretty good, been using version 3 for a while to post stuff on youtube.

You get the key after you install and type your email address in.

  • Just grabbed the burning studio and the Undeleter.

Does anyone know if the photo organiser is any good?

  • +2

Their tag line is "We make software" perhaps they should add "and not shampoo"

  • Cant get photo software…it redirects to payment payment page, says its dloading but its not

    • nvm works on pc but not phone..

  • i used to go for these freebies
    why are these under deals?
    then my PC is bloated
    and it runs funny
    with crapware
    free

    • +1

Yes don't accept the default installation or you'll install their toolbar, change your home page and search engine. Hate programs that do that.

      • +1

        Always go for custom installation.

  • really we need to work out on a good review site if there are better freebies so we don't take on crapware

  • Why don't you guys just add their domain to your blocked list?

  • Is Ashampoo Burning Studio 2012 certified for Windows 8?

I can't find any information about it on their site, seems to be a special giveaway version, not something they sell

    • Generally, it;s not the software that needs to be compatible - it's the system you're running.

I'm sure Windows 8 is backwards compatible with Windows 7 (and previous versions), allowing you to run the older programs.

…having said that, though, I had some problems installing Doom for Windows 95 on my Windows 7 laptop a year or so back…

It's free, so may as well try it. If it's not compatible, it's not compatible.

  • and here I was thinking I was going to get a free shampoo sample
