competes with JBL Xtreme 3 and Sony XG300 while those are standard front firing speakers the Epicboom has tweeters at the top facing outwards making it a 360 speaker.
5 inch woofer takes care of the omnidirectional bass but in typical UE fashion they didn’t tune it to dig deep in bass, instead tuning prioritises loudness. because of this you should think of the Epicboom as a slightly larger Megaboom and not a smaller Hyperboom. UE claims the Epicboom has 17 hours battery at 45% volume. Rtings tested it and it lasted 7.8 hours. pretty sure they test at a much higher volume close to max volume.
what does the tree button do? it turns on outdoor mode. outdoor mode on most speakers cuts the bass to allow the speaker to get louder outdoors. I wouldnt use it at all since it makes the sound worse.
