good price for a disappointing game. check the reviews for the PC version before committing. I paid 45 and this was only because of comparisons with but out paradise. terrible rubber-banding, cheap ai, frustrating handling, glitchy handling of online leaderboards.

    • Hmm the reviews don't seem that bad. 85/100 on PCMAG and 9/10 on IGN.

        have you played it?

        • Haha no. I'm just saying because you specifically mentioned "check the reviews for the PC version"

        • yeah, the reviewers are very kind, I'll say that!

I played it recently and couldn't actually make myself play for longer than about 3-4 races worth. :S

I dont often trust metacritic however the responses from users seem to ring true to me. again, this is about personal expectations and experience with the game. I was utterly disappointed. Criterion making a NFS game sounded like such a great idea, sadly it turned out pretty half baked. http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/need-for-speed-most-wanted…

not worth it, i thought The Run was bad, this is worse than the ones they made 10 years ago.
NFS hot pursuit was a much better game

And the reviews were probably written by EA fanboys whose first NFS game was NFS: ProStreet or later

The original Most Wanted was the last good NFS game released and ever since EA have just been pumping out utter crap. I think that's why they released this NFS game and named it Most Wanted - in an attempt to lure back some of the old NFS players who have given up on the series and to trick them into thinking that it is an updated and improved re-make of the original Most Wanted title.

This game is not Need for Speed, this game is Need for Burnout: Most Paradise or something along those lines.

        • It definitely looks like 'Need for Burnout: Most Paradise'

The original Most Wanted was so good….

The crappy handling in this game is it's biggest buzzkill. I hate driving the Gallardo because of it's body roll. The Lexus LFA is also a joke compared to how it should be ranked. 5hrs in and I'm in position 3… I can't see myself playing it after I'm done.

IMHO EA need to rebuild NFS like Underground 2, where you had to find and drive to different mod shops, fit your own selection of parts, pimp out your car in whatever colour you wanted and have a healthy selection of race types. Bringing back no-boundries was a good step foward though. It allows you to make mistakes.

    • and racing in a hummer, i like driving in day time though.
the sun glare is a shocker compared to previous games

    • You know what would be awesome? Porsche Unleashed crossed with Underground, and by that I don't mean blinging up your 911. Imagine if the game was similar in concept to underground, but set in the 1970's, and racing with older porches, corvettes, chargers, etc, and have the cars perform more like the real thing (e.g. the charger might be brilliant on the straights, but has to slow to a crawl to turn the corner). :)

  • I've been playing this virtually non-stop since it came out, and absolutely love it. I'm not sure why there are so many complaints with the handling model and the AI, at least on PS3 and Vita it's perfectly fine. The only rubberbanding I've experienced is in some of the cop chases, but they wouldn't be as intense without it so I don't mind so much.

I guess it really depends on whether you're willing to adapt to each car's handling model, because the car's each handle very differently, more so than compared to Hot Pursuit (2010).

the console versions seem to be the pick, the game runs smoother and controls are more reactive. the game appears to be a poor PC port at best. the rubber banding I have had is always with the most wanted target, over and over. fwiw I will be borrowing this from my brother on ps3 when he is done, it looks that much more playable.

      • I was actually going to get it on PC, but then one of my mates didn't want to because his rig isn't up to snuff. Whilst graphically the PS3 might not be better, I do think that they've got the controller sensitivity in exactly the right spot.

        • you may be right. I use a 360 controller on the PC and my PC is OK (3570k, 670, ssd) and still find frame rate drops and controller lag. I have used the gfx tweaks as suggested on a few forums and still find it an issue in cop chases when heat level is high. my brother on his ps3, I haven't seen a drop in frame rate during any of his races.

      • Most computers should be able to run it at the same performance as consoles, and as 30FPS which consoles run at.

If you want 60fps and maximum settings, you need the computer for it.

I will say that ATI's support for this game isn't that good at the moment though.

        • +2

It might not be ATI's (or Nvidea's) fault. Maybe its just PC version not being optimised very well?

  • I was reading the reviews and planning to buy the pc version. Then i recalled I've ordered the vita version already - hm… I'll stick to the console port.
