TeamGroup MP34 4TB PCIe Gen 3 NVMe M.2 2280 SSD $249 + Delivery ($262.37 Delivered within VIC Metro) @ Infinity Tech Solutions

150

Stumble upon this while looking for a 4TB game drive. Price does not include delivery.

Not familiar with this company or seller. Their facebook and instagram are linked to Shopify.

Seems like they are having a website launch sale, and is Melbourne based.

Delivery is $26.72 for 3750 VIC, $13.37 for 3076 VIC.

Price still good in the current SSD climate?

Purchase at your risk?

*Update: Attempted to purchase one, but there was an issue processing payment. Rang their number on the website. A customer service picked up (to my surprise!), told me that there's no stock hence system rejected payment. Chatted with him more, he claimed that they are an Amazon partner and they do sell computer products in Amazon. They have a warehouse in Sydney it seems. Sounds like they are a legit seller.

Was digging around and found this:

  • FYI Team group has been supplying Ram for decades I like there products & never had a issue.

    • Looks like they have paypal at checkout. So just use that, not much risk involved then!

So just use that, not much risk involved then!

Amazon, PCCG and Centre Com have all sold the drive delivered for cheaper

The correct play is to wait for those deals rather than pay $265-275 to an unknown shop that has less runs on the board than CCPU

        • ssd oversupply during 2023, we may not see them drop below for years

          some pretty charts here

        • I really don't care about any of that. I was replying in context to your comment. Then you just fly off on a completely unrelated tangent…

            @Woody982:

I really don't care about any of that. I was replying in context to your comment. Then you just fly off on a completely unrelated tangent…

            That's because you're short sighted

This drive has a 5 year / 2400 TBW warranty and can't be used for storing cheap data like PS5 games because it's Gen 3

So when you say "… not much risk involved then!" - that's bullshit

If you were seriously considering paying:

1/ Not an all time low price for this drive from
            2/ An unknown retailer and
3/ Enjoying the protection of Team's warranty

Then rather than waiting for a cheaper or equivalent deal from a known retailer, you've already lost

    • Would still be protected if using PayPal?

      • If you do need to return, it's best the merchant (or PayPal) fund the return postage.

For SSDs, the seller holds the key when it comes to warranty. You could get a seller who is by the books (return it to them, they will RMA for you) or be great and offer a straight replacement or full refund. TeamGroup seems to have a good reputation, but at the end of the day, it is still glue and go SSD (get the chipset and NAND chips, follow the wiring diagram) and hopefully no undesirable component swap.

Was really hoping 4TB would hit under $200 by now.

Only if there is no tech sanctions between US and China.

Due to the sanctions imposed by the United States, Yangtze Memory Technologies Co., Ltd.’s (YMTC) production capacity has been greatly restricted, leading to a subsequent price rebound in the global SSD market.

    • Out of stock / price has been corrected. Doubt we’ll receive these but we can hope…

    Alright folks, false alarm.

  • This is a great drive Have 2 from last year @ $249 each one in a HP Elitedesk G4 800 one in a Unitek 2 bay clone USB3.2 20Gbps enclosaure
However the Samsung 990 Pro 4TB picked up today seems better value

  • Why are 4TB drives sub-300 and 8TB over 1500?
