Plenty will forget to cancel it and if their card is active by then they'll be slapped with the charge.

I've just finished a year of PureVPN subscription. It's the worst VPN out of the paid ones I've tried (Surfshark and Nord). The app on my PC was broken and wouldn't load at all even after reinstalling, I had to do manual VPN connection via the Windows settings for several months until my subscription expired. I also couldn't load many Australian and international websites whilst connected through PureVPN.

It's ok if it's free but I wouldn't pay a single cent for it.

It is pretty janky I have never enjoyed using it.

    • SB may reject 5years plan

      • +1

        yes they certainly won’t.

    • Using TopCashBack:
I just bought the 2 yr Max plan for $107.95 USD, $173.45 AUD was charged on my card. TopCB shows payment as $156.76, and cashback as $203.77. (tracked within 2 hours)

      Overall $30.32 ($203.77 - $173.45 = $30.32) profit, which is more like 117% cashback.

I would like to hear how others went with ShopBack

      • 2 year plan as well, spent AUD169, tracked as AUD207, $38 profit.

how to pay 5 years plan

1.Install the ShopBack extension on Chrome.
    2.Go to https://www.purevpn.com/limited-5yr.
    3.Activate cashback in the extension.
    4.Make the payment.
    5.Pray until it's tracked.
    Done!

    • I did that half an hour ago and its just tracked, was about $191

      • What is the chance of it being rejected?

  • Duh.. cancelling tomorrow for sure…

  • Anyone from ShopBack that can confirm whether the 5 year plan will get approved? @gotyourback?

  • How did you guys pay? Apple Pay/Google Pay or manually enter card detail? I got an "error detected" message after entering card detail.

  • Pure VPN's client on Mac 2 years back was garbage, maybe they have improved it now.

  • purchased amount 108usd =165AUD, tracked 206.99aud

    however card deducted 176.82AUD..

I dnt understand but hopefully it paids out

    • My card got deducted 153.72 AUD. latitude card

  • Tracked… AUD 191.65

    • Same here. Does it mean its approved or it can still be rejected?

      • Can be rejected

      • It can still be declined, and its a long wait (3 months) before you can withdraw

        • before you can withdraw

          Correction
before you know rejected or approved

  • I got Subscribed to Google One VPN, am I still need this?

  • Little you can do if the cashback is not tracked. Cashrewards doesn’t do shit to resolve any complains. Never again.

  • +1

Paid the $99 usd for the 5 years promo. and can confirm it got tracked within the hour.

Can the OP please update their title as it clearly states the 5 year won’t be honoured.

      • Where does it say that?

        • It said in the conditions.

          • @Kustard King: Are you sure? I read the conditions and didn't find any such condition

            • -2

@sidozziee: Given that TopCashback state no deal on 5 year id be surprised if Shopback magically will.

              • @Kustard King: Its lots of money and lots of risk if the cashback is declined for whatever reason so I have requested to cancel my plan and I am going to buy 2 years plan using topcashback creating a new account for purevpn

                • @sidozziee: I certainly would. I think there will be a lot of disappointed people in a few months. It’s not worth it considering how many VPN deals come out these days.

                • @sidozziee: I have requested to cancel my plan

how? im chickened out and want to get full refund as well

                  • @CyberMurning: Go to chat and answer questions. Bot will create a ticket and you will receive an email saying reply this email with any comments and someone will contact you in 1-2 business days. I have replied the email saying i want to cancel my plan. But i have bought 2 years plan using topcashback and its tracked. Nothing to lose, rather some free money.

                    • +1

@sidozziee: Already got email from support to confirm if i want to cancel. Also created a ticket at shopback asking if 5 years plan was eligible. Will wait for their reply and if it not eligible, then will confirm.

  • Now is 110% and no restrictions?

  • Now let's discuss how to cancel the renewal. Can we cancel now and still get the 1/2/5 years we already paid?

    • No idea, I'm just waiting a few months and getting it cancelled once I receive the Cashback, I have no intentions of using this dog shit vpn lol

Sounds like you can go either way if you want.

I'd probably come back after it approves on SB's end and cancel the renewal in the dashboard, then go into your Paypal and nuke any subscription in there too. (Or just kill off the payment details if you used anything else)

  • Hoping for some PIA deals

  • @gotyourback Can you please confirm if the 5 years plan eligible for the cashback?

    • @gotyourback knock knock

      Hey There!

Just confirming, the 125% cashback applies to all PureVPN plans as long as you're a new customer from PureVPN

  • Grr did I miss something? I paid for 12 months with multi device (ended up being around $110 USD), but it only tracked for $75 AUD. Anybody else get the same issue?

    • How much was multi-device add on? Cashback was only for vpn plan, not any add ons

    Hey ShopBack user,

    Greetings from ShopBack!

Pertaining to your inquiry, please be informed that the 125% has been tracked accordingly as it applies to all orders as long you are a New PureVPN Customer.

Kindly refer to the terms and conditions attached below:

    • Okay that sounds good I wish the rep can confirm here

    • Was it for a 5 year plan? I also subscribed to the 5 year plan and was thinking about cancelling my subscription during the grace period as I don’t want to risk the refusal for the cashback.

      • @sidozziee

        • +2

Yes as the shopback support confirmed, 5 years plan was eligible for this 125% cashback offer.

What a pia to get a refund, pure vpn can stick it where the sun don't shine

  • Merged from PureVPN ShopBack Cashback

Has anyone got their Pure VPN cashback from this deal?
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/838855

Estimated confirmed by 29/6/24 but nothing yet. Have raised a delayed cashback report but no word yet from ShopBack.

    • In the same boat as you
Have raised it to sb as well

    • +1

Am in the same situation. Raised with SB and waiting for a response.
Less trusting of Shopback to come through on these deals now. If they say a number of days to confirm cashback, that number should be the absolute maximum, and should be chasing it earlier.

      • i dont think we can chase before that date, they block the function on the app and say please wait the date is not on yet

        • +1

shopback should have been working together with purevpn to make sure the cashback is confirmed by the due date that they gave us. they shouldn't be waiting until after the due date to chase this up.

    • +1

Same. Raised inquiry…still waiting on a response.

      • +1

Am in the same boat, lets hope Shopback pull through and pay out. Wont be gambling $180 bucks for $30 or $40 or whatever it was again.

      • Cashback now approved and in the bank!

    • Just got an email of approval

    cashback CONFIRMED!

      Same, excellent!

  • In the words of a legend, f@ck you got mine

  • +1

    Cashback confirmed!
Has anyone managed to disable automatic renewal?

    • +1

I just searched for the option and found this
      https://support.purevpn.com/en_US/billing/how-to-cancel-auto…

    • +1

I’m thinking of using a virtual card as new payment method. And then terminate the virtual card.

      • That's what I ended up doing. Can't find the cancel button in my account menu.

Messaged their chat support to turn off auto renew which he claimed he did, but got no confirmation via email nor were there any changes reflected in the app.

        • We can change now? Or too late?

        • +1

Where Sidozziee's linked instructions say "click the drop-down arrow" I just scrolled to the bottom of the page and the cancel button is there. You click cancel a few times to confirm but your sub will remain active until the original plan end date. I cancelled and mine is still valid to July 2026.
Once done, the subscription page will offer a button to "Resume Subscription", which I take to mean the cancellation has worked.

      • i tried with revolut disposable but revolut said i cant use this card with that merchant (ie purevpn)
