  • is anyone experiencing delivery issues from Aliexpress? i was told by Aus post they are not delivering any of their parcels and so they simply stay at the post office, not even a card will be left.

    • +1

yep - just had my first lost parcel. Attempted Delivery but never scannedinto Auspost. Eventually refunded by AliExpress

      • wow lucky mine arrived but that was a month ago

    • Did Aus Post give a reason why?

    • +2

not even a card will be left.

Cards aren't a thing at all anymore for all parcels. Get the app.

      • Really? I get them all the time in my PO Box. Along with SMS and email notification. Why would I need an app?

        • Along with SMS and email notification. Why would I need an app?

Well I guess you don't need the app installed, but you do need to have signed up for the app's account. How else would you expect Australia Post to know your email address and phone number (for people without a PO Box)?

    • I've had a couple delivered over the past days/weeks via Auspost. The only time I had issues with Aliexpress parcels was when they used Couriers please.

    • Holy shit, thanks for this comment. I splurged and bought like half a dozen different little emulators the last couple of days, have to keep my eye out!

      • +1

should have saved your money and just purchased a Retroid Pocket 4 Pro, all classic consoles pre-PS2 and Gamecube, and almost anything on PS2 and Gamecube, some Wii and some switch too

        • Made new accounts each time. Spent 40 odd on an R36S for psp/ds and earlier, but mostly the PC ports like vice city, descent, quake 3, ottomatic, etc.

The others were all piss cheap, few were literally 76 cents with the new user bonus.

Got a steam deck and devmode xboxes for actual proper ridgy didge emulation times. But when a PS2 compat retroid hits 200 AUD I may yet bite.

          • @TheDukeOfNukem: LOL yes you splurged allright

Would hate to see the negative impact on your life if those 76c orders dont come through

    • Don't they use Fast Horse Express now? My last two Aliexpress orders were from them. They don't even have a pickup option.

      • Still Auspost here as that courier isn't in my state thankfully.

      • Yea. My last order was delivered by Fast Horse at 12:35am on a Sunday.
Weird hours but I got the item :)

  • hmm tempted but even nin switch screen is too small for my old eyes (without wearing glasses) so i have to pass on this

  • How does this stack up against R36S?

    • R36s superior.

      I have the mini+, RG35xx and the R36s. I prefer the R36s.

only advantage of the mini is more pocketable and has wifi.

      • wow interesting i thought r36s is clone of miyoo and anbernic!

        • It is a cheap clone/knock off of the RG351 line.

        • +1

R36s is a clone of a clone of a clone.
MM is not a clone of anything, it's original design.

          • -1

@daniltaru: Really? Original design? No inspiration taken from Gameboy whatsoever?

            • +1

@Jaduqimon: I mean, speaking of technical design, of course.
All those retro handhelds are inspired by GameBoy and other consoles.

      • +2

        Absolutely not.
MM+ has far better production quality, and with Onion OS installed it's unbeatable at software.

        • -1

Dpad on mm+ is dog shit.

          Latest Arkos just as good.

Yes the plastics probably better on mm+

          • @Jaduqimon: Dpad on the MM+ is the best across all handhelds that I've tried (and I've tried a lot).

            • +1

@daniltaru: I guess it is personal preference and what games you play. But for me the goat dpad is the rg35xx+.

Mm+ dpad feels just a bit too easy to press/actuate

Waiting for my rg35xxH to arrive. Hopefully that dpad is same

          • @Jaduqimon: I have an R36S and the dpad is terrible

            • @BepisCola: That's what I thought until I got the mm+.

I did the loosening of the screw mod on the r36s and that improved it quite a bit. But the rg35xx+ hands down best dpad. Firm and raised with good pivot

      • +2

As someone who has this as well as the following Rg35xx, Rg351v, M17, R35s, R36s, RGB30, Retroid Pocket 3+, Sf2000 and a couple of hacked Psps and 3DS ill say the following.

The MM+ has great controls but unfortunately it's made for very small hands i find. Granted you can buy or 3d print out a grip for it. The same issue is also there with the Rg35xx and Rg35xx+.

The r36s is a great all around device for the same price as this but build quality wise isn't as good as the miyo or Rg35xx are. I've had two of them so far and the first one had the screen pop out and wasn't very well put together but the second one was abit better so ymmv.

    • Get the Anbernic RG35XX H for the ergos.

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/837022

  • Can't seem to add it to the cart

  • This is an awesome price for the GOAT of the retro handhelds.
    I frikken love mine.
Don't forget to install Onion OS.

    • +1

No onions on my pizza. Thank you.

  • What size microSD card do I need?
What travel case does one use and where to get?

    • +2

      128 GB should be fine.
I use a case from the Anbernic RG350, it's a bit big, but still usable.

    • +1

check the dimension of the unit, then search for portable hdd case on aliexpress/temu. match the size and you are good.

    • +1

I personally use 256gb cards across most of my devices as i bought them supercheap over the years. As for the case if you can wait there's heap of cheapies off Aliexpress but i bought a few of these about a year ago for $10 for two from Amazon. They are around $12 currently https://amzn.asia/d/0AEpw2l

    • +1

      I use 32gb.

I just hand pick the games I actually want to play.

  • +1

Great handheld but the lack of analog sticks make me use mine less..

  • Price gone up too 61.35
