  • Some conflicting information on the PS5 upgrade, some say its free like most PS4 disc versions, however other articles say its $10 for the PS5 upgrade. If it was a free PS5 upgrade I would buy it. But tbh having played this on my brothers account FH5 is a much better racing game imo.

It is not free. It costs $15 to upgrade to the PS5 version from this disc.

I also prefer FH5 but note, GT is a racing simulator, and FH5 is an arcade racing game. Forza Motorsport would be more comparable to GT.

      • -5

GT bills itself as a simulator, but it's a long way from it. It's still a simcade. Think of it like a scale. Sim on the left and arcade on the right. FH5 is most of the way to the right, GT7 is a little bit to the left of that (but still closer to arcade than a sim).

        • +5

at the very least, GT7 when run at the high difficulty races, you have to manage petrol consumption via fuel mix, tyre wear, tyre selection for weather and pit stops and the general gammut for endurance racing… compare this to doing 50m jumps where you land on your roof in FH5…

        • Downvoted! Nobody who knows anything about actual car racing and mechanics would consider GT7 a simulation. It touches on elements of simulation (tyre wear, different car physics, weather conditions) but seriously - it's a game intended for the masses. No mechanical failures, no tyre simulation beyond wear levels, minimal visual damage, minimal wind, track conditions are always the same, no tyre suppliers, no in-depth analysis of car mechanics.

Less of a toy than Forza, yes, but still an arcadey game.

    • i have both and really its hard to compare between the two because they do two different things to varying degrees of success

to me FH5 is a stale open world 'game'

GT7 is a much much more hardcore quasi 'simcade'

i think the avg. FH5 player would not be able to handle… say a typical race around Nurburgring for example

      also its not $10 to upgrade to GT7 on PS5… its $15 aud…. or $10 usd…

    • I'll have to disagree there and I'm not a GT stan. Forza was much better and more fun than GT for quite a while when GT dropped the ball, but GT7 has wrapped around and really is great.

All the cheesy over the top love of cars, the missions, the cafe, the whole thing is back where it felt in peak GT3 and 4 era. also I know not many of you are using it but with psvr2 it's totally incredible. Super under rated.

I thought I was too old now to spend 100+hours in a car game, but I was wrong.

  • +1

I was today days old when I found out gt7 is on the ps4. I thought it was a ps5 exclusive all this time lol

    • Sony believe in generations

  • Any Amazonian price match?

  • +3

HODL until they add the JZX100 Toyota Chaser

  • Does this do VR or is that separate. Also is it psvr2 compatible?

    • It’s PSVR2 compatible once you upgrade it to the PS5 version. The PSVR2 mode is a free update.

  • omg need to dust off the PS4

  • $65 on PS Store.

Can someone please build a disc changer.

Excuse my ignorance (I don't actually play games) but if you were going to upgrade to the wouldn't it be better just to get the preowned version from EB https://www.ebgames.com.au/product/ps4/219807-gran-turismo-s…

    • +1

thats a different game. Not GT7.

    • That's Gran Turismo Sport, the last version, Gran Turismo 7 is the current version.

  • No longer available.

  • Wow thats the cheapest it's ever been.
I got it for 30 something back in november.

Great game… and looks stunning on ps4 pro too

  • +3

    Long gone, back to $84.

Got my copy, great trade in bait, CeX gives $52 store credit, $40 cash.

And Base value is $31 at EB Games, they’re doing double your EB world bonus atm.

      • +1

The comment you commented did not get negged, but your comment did.
You ever get the feeling that…..

    • Does the wrapper have to be intact or can it be used to get that value?

  • +1

I just went to jbhifi and picked it up for 24, since they have fixed it in the system but if you're lucky, if the ticket is there on the shelf they will still honour it

    • Same here - merrylands

    • So was this a price error?

I picked it up on thursday for $24 and just assumed it was a regular sale price.

      • +1

They had the sale of the best part of two hours and then they ended it, not sure if it was a price error and they realised after I assume lots of people bought it because of the ozbargain post.

  • Got this deal in store today - staff had left the sticker up but the sticker said valid until 10/04 - guy behind cashdesk then asked another staff member to take down the sticker.
