Tips on Getting Uber One for Free or Discounted (after 6 MasterCard Offer Expired)

I had the 6 month trial through MasterCard and quite enjoyed a number of Uber Eats deals. Are there any tips on avoiding paying full price for Uber One?

Are there any tips on avoiding paying full price for Uber One?

Yes! Its called picking it up yourself. It also comes with discounted food prices compared to Ubereats app, hot food and you can check your order is correct before leaving! :)

I have a disability, so depending on the day, I can't physically get to the restaurants. That's why I'm asking for this option.

Fair enough, then sadly that is the price you have to pay for convenience of having food delivered.

    Yes, do not use it.

  • uber one haters missing out on 50% off

50% off what? The delivery fee? The service fees? Or the 30-40% marked up food prices compared to going in store directly?

Keep missing out. It’s not hard to see the deals from Uber eats that are posted on here. Show me how it’s cheaper to not use Uber for any of the deals that have more than 30 votes.

        • Keep missing out.

On what? I can only see one active 'deal' with more than 30 votes and that is a TARGETED 50% off deal for Uber one people.

So wow so food that is already marked up 40% I can get 50% off, but then have to pay delivery and service fees and oh Uber one monthly fees…

Yeah, It's not the deal you think it is.

          • @JimmyF: It's crazy how increased the prices are. My local Chinese shop was $40 in store and $65 on the apps.
But I guess if they don't advertise with Uber Eats etc they would go out of business🤔
Even a kebab is $11 in-store and $16 on Uber. Madness!
People are idiotic if they haven't realised this yet…

Yep, all mine around here are the same! Crazy prices on the app, and that is before the delivery and service fee (WTF is that even for!?).

Then they want me to TIP the driver!? Ummm this isn't America!!

I just don't bother now, its certainly worth me going for a drive to get. I get it cheaper and its hot!

          • @JimmyF: There is the pickup option (yes defeats the purpose of Uber Eats and poor restaurants that still have to pay a cut) but my local restaurant only marked up the pickup prices by $1 compared to in store. I used the 40% off that day and my order was around $30 cheaper than if I dined in. apart from promos, I don't use it

I feel this is a edge case example. But glad you got a real saving out of it!

          • @JimmyF: One active deal but there’s one every week.

            Free delivery for Uber one

            Service fees are peanuts

Uber one is free with some cards

Just look for the sprite deal. Tell me how you can get 10 bottles of sprite for $2? You’re just choosing to not see the deals.

After stacking two promos together…. Amazing good value indeed, but if that is the best you got, then meh as that deal would have been $22.57 delivered if you didn't have the targeted $20 off if you spend $40 promo to stack on top of the $3 off per bottle.

              • @JimmyF: Every Uber one account has the $20 off $40 spend. It was marked targeted because people without it thought they could be part of the fun.

                • @askbargain: and how many $20 off $40 spend 'vouchers' did you get?

                  • @JimmyF:

                    1. Feel free to miss out on 15% Uber eats gift cards that stacks

Honestly other that 10 bottles of soft drink, you haven't really shown me anything worth while ordering that isn't really cheaper than getting it myself.

I was wondering the same. Coincidentally there has been big offers from uber one, so I guess uber is trying to lure the members to keep the membership

I'm a regular credit card churner and a new mastercard will grant you another 6 months of uber eats.

Open debit cards with all the major banks and cycle through their free Uber One offers. That's what I've been doing.

    • any debit cards?
