  • If you add 4 and use code '24AN02' you get $3 off so it works out to about ~$18 AUD for four cables (if purchasing through the anniversay portal).

    • Anniversary portal?

Hey just something to consider, and just for anyone in general.

There are many different tiers of C-C cables and any cable worth its salt claiming to be 100W should have an E-Marker chip inside the connector housing itself. I've stripped back one cheapo USB C cable I've bought off AliEx that didn't charged my devices properly. Done this purely out of curiosity after watching videos of people doing this on YouTube and find that there's no chip in the damn cable even though it's been advertised as 100W!! Without the chip the max power the device negotiates will be 60W at most. Some of my devices seem to just completely disregard the existence of some cheap C-C cables from AliEx for the purpose of power/charging, I am guessing those are devices that are expecting at least 100W min for whatever reason.

Another thing is, it could be that iPhone is also doing a secondary check with the actual transfer specification of the cable, maybe anything with USB 2.0 spec it just ignores any sort of fast charging and forces that cable to only charge at 60W or below even though technically that cable could run at 20V @ 5A which is 100W - but this is completely speculation as I've never tested any of this stuff with Apple devices! All I know is that Android does, for the most part in devices I've tested, try to get whatever juice it can from the cheap C-C instead of flat out rejecting it. So often I can get at least some trickle charge happening. Just some of my specialist gear I have does not like cheap C-C cables at all.

I know this is a bit of a rant 😅, just venting my frustrating experiences to date haha…

This cable is pretty good you can see videos on youtube testing its resistance. I also have this cable and it’s the best cable I have for power

    • Awesome, good to know.

I did see there were other 100w Baseus cables that seemed newer (talked about iPhone 15, etc.) but couldn't see any justification for paying more for them.
