Webjet Vs Flight Centre?

Hi all,

I have a Prezzee voucher expiring soon and I am looking to use towards a trip to Europe. I can either swap these for a Webjet or Flight Centre voucher.

I have never used these services as I prefer to book directly. Which would you all recommend?

I'd go with Flightcentre. Webjet has the following stupid fees which can't be avoided at all.

    Webjet Booking Price Guarantee $12.95
    Webjet Servicing Fee $21.95

  • Haven't used Webjet but used someone I had a friend of a friend who worked at FC at the time. She came into bat for me when my midnight flight from Bali was cancelled. Sent her a message at 3am when I got to our provided hotel and had a response when I woke up with new flights which suited our needs at decent times - better than the ones that Jetstar had originally tried to put us on.

Haven't used Webjet so can't help there. Could always try and sell it via classifieds or to family/friends and book direct, as you prefer.

as a former FC employee we are taught to absolutely rip people off as far as humanly possible so don't book ANYTHING that you couldn't book somewhere else for the same price.

    • There's the risk of that with any company that pays their staff commission based on their sales.

i'm not sure why you would want to overide my important advice made from personal experience? I am doing my good deed for the day and trying to help the op who specifically asked this question. Please don't minimise my point as I had vast experience to make it.

Who's "minimising" your point? It's not just Flight Centre staff that does that.

@bobbified: Your comment minimises it. You are saying essenitally oh they all do that, when my experience working for that company was serious enough to make my comment. It doesn't need your comment. Let it stand on it's own thank you. Have you worked for either of the companies the op is asking about? If not stand back and stand down as you are not providing expert advice, which for this question, I am. The level of ripping of that goes on at FC is to an insane level and you don't have a clue what I am talking about. To protect myself I am not going to elaborate further. Op has been warned. Sigh.

@tete: Calm down Mr "expert'!. This is is a public forum. You can emphasise your point as much as you want, but you can't expect that no-one is going to comment.

anyone who uses anyone else but the airline for flight bookings. buyer beware.

those online travel agencies are only slightly better than used car sales people or real estate agents

Agree 100% with the ex having lost $1000+ after being assured by 2 different "support" staff (called 2 times) on chat that everything was fine and legit.

cant you use the Prezzee voucher for anything else?

Solid tip. Assuming OP has the Travel card, Hotels.com (Expedia group) will work better than Webjet or Flight Centre

Avoid both. Use webjet for price comparison and then book directly with airline.

    As for packages… idk

    Both are garbage imo.

But heres a relevant story about flight centres customer service.
