Samsung Odyssey Neo G7 32" QLED UHD 165Hz Gaming Monitor $1099 + Delivery ($0 C&C/In-Store) @ JB Hi-Fi

40

First time deal submission so go easy on me :)

32-inch QLED gaming monitor, the 1000R curve might be too prominent for some, but the HDR experience is meant to be quite good for a non-OLED monitor.
Samsung's QA has reportedly been very hit and miss, so take this one with a grain of salt!

Typical RRP of $1599, same sale price is also on Amazon if you prefer shopping there.

Same price on Amazon and Samsung's website (and probably others), which might save people a few dollars on shipping if required:
    https://www.samsung.com/au/monitors/gaming/odyssey-neo-g7-g7…
    https://www.amazon.com.au/Samsung-Odyssey-Curved-Gaming-Moni…

May be eligible for the $50 Samsung store newsletter signup discount too?

Edit: Tim from Hardware Unboxed rated this monitor quite well and had good things to say: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMcABSuKAK0

Specs are good but I have read that build quality isn't the best and also I'm not sure if I could deal with the curve…it seems a bit severe.

  • Does any have experience buying monitor from Samsung website?

Some people have reported QC issues and I'm wondering if buying from their store give me any problems.

I'd highly recommend buying from a local store if possible, regarding any of Samsungs Neo monitors. The horror stories online regarding Samsung Directs customer support don't paint a pretty picture.
I bought my Neo G9 from a local HN, and am so happy I did as I had to RMA the first unit (Will RMA the 2nd unit soon too). They can deal with Samsung for me.

Thanks for that. The only advantage Samsung has is the $100 trade in for monitors. But I'd rather pay $100 more for peace of mind

  • It's a good monitor, but the curve is quite jarring. It distorts straight lines so using it for any sort of design is impractical. Even spreadsheets or graphics in word documents can look a bit wonky at times. The curve also makes it hard to use in a multi-monitor setup if the adjacent monitor is flat
