I've brought many pieces of tech over the years. Most of them on OzBargain.

My Dyson H+C Purifying Fan's is the biggest piece of overpriced crap I own. It makes a lot of noise for a fan, it's very underpowered, is quite ugly. The only real positive is that the app is quite nice, but pointless.

The only redeeming feature is the purifying function, but given Australia has some of the cleanest air in the world it's not really needed.

    Save your money.

    • Thanks, been wondering what life would be like with one of these as an alternative to using the AC + Kmart pedestal fan combo but you've helped me make up my mind that it's just me hyping it up in my head that it's some magical device that does it all.

      • Modern AC (i.e reverse cycle) is also very efficient to run so it will save you heaps of money in a long run than these traditional resistive heaters…

    • Any good recommendations?

I can relate and share the same experience here. I've owned the Dyson Pure Cool Link Desk Purifier and after 2 years, the fan keeps oscillating. The rotation can't be stopped anymore, neither with the remote nor with the app, only way to make it stop is to turn off power. Seems to be a common issue among owners when searching through various forums.. no way to fix it but through Dyson.
      https://www.reddit.com/r/dyson/comments/g4sffe/fan_wont_stop…

With AM09, after a year, the LED digits indicator for the fan speed/temperature just started to slowy disappear. Dyson fixed it once under warranty. but the year later, it started again a year later. Also searching through the internet seem to be a common issue.
And Dyson is charging a ridiculous amount of money to fix these issues…

Owned a V10 as soon as it came out, just stopped working after 1.5 year as well..

At the super high price point they charge consumers, one would expect their products to last well beyond the warranty period (and not having some random component fail and being a common issue among owners). My experience has been so disappointing having owned a lot of their products, that I will no longer buy their products again. Dyson does lots of engineering PR and marketing, but their products definitely do not live up to their durability expectations.

The only good experience so far is with a 10 year old DC54 which is still going.
Other Dyson products are clearly just not built to last and perhaps are built with planned obsolescence in mind.

    • Tell that to my local post office lady who think the purifying function is a god sent.
Fixed her asthma whenever her neighbour start lighting up woodfire during winter nights and during backburnings in our area,

  • Wondering what’s the difference between this and the HP07 (other than the 3 difference!) that Costco had on discount a couple of weeks ago. I saw many people bought one last time.

  • Cool is such a misnomer…people think there's an AC unit inside

  • Shows sold out for me
