Target price for 30xAA is around $12

    • +2

      Maybe, but these are Energizer

      • That is energizer

        • +10

You may want to clarify if you mean 'the price we should be targetting for these is around $12 per 30", or that Target sells 30xAA batteries for around $12.

      huh - https://www.target.com/p/energizer-max-aa-batteries-alkaline…

      24pk is $20

where is the 30pk for $12

      Apologies for the confusion.
What i meant to say was the target (best deal) price for Energizer Max AA x30 is $12 based on previous deals.

Flexes mountain of Eneloops accumulated over the years

Going to buy a pack of these to keep in the van. Handy for when a customer's remote control needs new batteries. Thanks OP

    • what remote uses AA batteries? and would you charge them say $5 for 2 batteries?

      • Foxtel, Projector remotes, Denon AV remotes etc. They're relatively common.

And generally, I wouldn't charge someone for them.

  • +2

What is the rationale buying Alkalines over say Eneloops? Even better value with rebranded LADDA Eneloops

Personally I don't get it, they lose out on value in the long term as it's 1 and done.

Some devices will only accept Alkaline's 1.5v and not rechargeable batteries which generally have a lower voltage

      • -5

When you charge a NiMH it'll generally go up to around 1.5v and then hold its voltage better than an alkaline throughout the discharge cycle

Even an alkaline will drop it's voltage to 1.2v at lower end of the discharge.

I've never found a device that complains about rechargeable. So that's a bit of a misconception imo.

^This. My old digital camera only lasts a few minutes with fully recharged AAs before complaining about low battery. It would often power down immediately after being turned on.

I have one of those drink mixers which run on two AAs and it always feels underpowered after two uses.

*Licence, in all of the English speaking world, accept North America.

*except, in all of the English speaking world, including North America.

        • Haha very true. Thank you.

Because most rechargables put out a lower voltage which messes with some devices.

My VR controllers will flash 'low battery' and rumble doesn't work, even with full, good quality rechargeables.

    • Hi drain devices. I use them in flash guns. Recycles faster and lasts longer.

Get the Costco Kirkland branded ones, they are just Duracell rebadge. From memory, you get 40 odd AA for $16.

  • What is the expiry (shelf life) like for these?

    • 10 years usually

  • What does Max Plus give over these?

    • "Energizer MAX Plus is one of Energizer's longest lasting alkaline batteries. It can hold power for up to 12 years during storage, making certain that your devices always have power.

PowerBoost Technology ensures that it's able to produce more power and last longer. It's 50% more potent than its Energizer MAX counterpart.

It also maintains the 2 years zero leakage guarantee that adds to its safety.

This makes it a powerful, longer-lasting choice for contemporary devices such as digital still cameras, wireless gaming accessories, toys, clocks, remotes, and hospital equipment such as glucometers.

Technically, there’s no difference between Energizer MAX Plus AA and standard Energizer industrial alkaline batteries."

    • It gives $18.56 less change.

  • I also found these at Woolworths in Melb QV for $13 in the clearance shelves today at the back of the store. There were probably around 10 packs left. I only bought 1.
