      should we report as fake?

      • a bit trigger happy there pal

    • Definitely sus prices, but plenty of reps don't follow up on their deals. I wouldn't use that as any kind of evidence around the product authenticity.

Interestingly, the only actual bit of concrete information from your shares would be this

transaction reference for this purchase was Le Specs Alexandria :S

      From their website:

Certified as an authorised retailer of leading luxury brands including Gucci, Chloe, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta and Saint Laurent, all frames are shipped with a certificate of authenticity and manufacturer’s warranty.

I'd use your own judgement on this one. Looking at the site, they still have plenty of Gucci shades well over $600. Who knows what the deal is with these cheap ones, but I'm going to put my neck out and say they're genuine.

Optical Dispenser who did the research here. I'm not associated with Eyewear Index but I do sell frames supplied by Sunshades Eyewear at work so let me know if I should have selected the associated option on my comment even though it's not a direct association.

From what I can tell this site seems to be an online outlet for Sunshades Eyewear who are the Australian supplier of Gucci and other brands on the Eyewear Index website. I assume all of the stock on sale are discontinued models (but I could be wrong, I only checked a small selection).

I made a purchase after the Le Specs post. I recognised most of the brands as being supplied by Sunshades so I thought they likely owned Eyewear Index and when I looked up Camilla eyewear for more information the Sunshades website directed me to Eyewear Index so I was satisfied it was legit. The prices were well below wholesale cost if I'd purchased them for myself through my workplace. When the payment was processed it was to Sunshades Eyewear. I went to work a couple of days later and checked the models I'd purchased through an industry website and they were all discontinued models and the price I'd paid was significantly less than I could have bought them for otherwise. Eyewear Index does offer a warranty my only warning would be that discontinued models typically won't have spare parts available for as many years as the current models.

I'm very happy with my bargains and provided there's no issues with the frames when they arrive I'll happily purchase from them again. Hope this helps.

Edit: I meant to say that I assume "all of the stock on sale" are discontinued models rather than just "all of the stock". The full priced stuff if probably still current but I haven't checked.

I’ve bought from these guys before and compared them to 1001 opticals and vision direct, there seems to be no problems on quality and seem consistent.

If they are ‘fake’ they seem to be pretty good.

For reference I would buy frames with them and get prescription lenses added from 1001 and vision direct.

  • Waiting for OP to reply to above. Post and runs when there are issues with the seller are never a good sign.
