Important: Empty your Amazon cart prior to clicking from Cashrewards.

To be eligible for cashback via the Amazon app, you must have the Amazon app installed prior to tapping 'Shop Now' from the Cashrewards app.

Cashback is eligible for:

  • Purchase of products in any cashback category with a cashback rate higher than 0% (eligible category). Check the cashback categories table prior to purchase.
  • Purchase of products in an eligible category paid with gift cards.
  • The first (new) Subscribe & Save order of a product in an eligible category. Subsequent orders are ineligible for cashback.
  • Preorders of products in an eligible category, but only if the item is scheduled to be shipped within 60 days of purchase.

Cashback is ineligible on the following:

  • Purchase of products in any cashback category with a cashback rate of 0%. Check the cashback categories table prior to purchase.
  • Purchase of gift cards, vouchers, Kindle Unlimited, Audible, mobile apps, Amazon Prime subscriptions & renewals.

  • Items purchased from your Amazon wish list or 'saved for later' list.
  • Items that are cancelled, returned, exchanged or refunded.
  • GST, other taxes and delivery fees.
  • Fraudulent transactions.

Important tips before you shop:

  • Ensure your Amazon cart is empty before clicking from Cashrewards.
  • Items added to your cart prior to clicking from Cashrewards will not earn cashback. Only add items after clicking from Cashrewards.
  • You must return and click through Cashrewards to Amazon for each new transaction.
  • Check cashback categories table prior to purchase, as rates and category eligibility can/will change without notice.

Other terms to be aware of:

  • "Returns everything i bought off Amazon last night"

Haha….oh well time to go shopping again!

  • +3

TopCashback is slightly better for the 0.7% categories, with them offering it at 1% instead

But then again depends on which provider you prefer to give the better tracking I suppose

  • +4

Got to love the "up to" when that's 2 categories. Still, better than it generally is.

  • +19

nah this is misleading - the category of home improvement is 15% but the tools subcategory of home improvement is 3%

    pathetic

    • +7

I agree, this really does need clarification and needs to be more transparent, if an item is under a main category then that's it category, not some made up sub category….. Can someone sort this sh$t out!!

      End of rant

    • +3

This is so misleading, no wonder the cashback in my email this morning was less than expected. i've only ever checked for main category before. There should be a warning somewhere about subcategories. Further, the cashback info on main category needs to show exclusions, eg. Home Improvement (excluding tools).

Worse is that Amazon doesn't necessarily show you're in a subcategory at first glance. It's just so misleading that it just says Tools. How the hell am I meant to know if it's under the Tools section if what I'm seeing for my item at the top of the page is the Home Improvement category and digging further in best seller ranks, the Hand Tools category, thus the category names aren't a exact match either.

      Very misleading and deceptive.

    • +1

      This is disgustingly misleading. Furious

This is why I usually don't bother with Amazon cashback anymore

  • -3

In these cases should just say the average cash back rate than max. Misleading

    • -2

But there is up to 15% cashback in one of the most popular categories..

    • +2

How is the average cash back rate not misleading itself?

      • +1

Because here most of the categories come a lot closer to the mean of 3% than the max of 15%

Why didnt he just say "15% Cashback on Home & Home Improvement + more"

  • +9

Titles for these "up to" should be reversed to a "minimum" uplift in cashback. Should be the floor, not the ceiling.

  • +1

According to 🐫, Gorilla tape is categorised under ‘Tools & Home Improvement’. Which is it for the purpose of this promo?

  • +4

At first, felt so excited when I saw 15% off from the heading. A couple of seconds later after going through the category cashback rates, it hit me right back to earth couldn’t help but feeling despair and a bit of anguish.

  • +8

This is a click bait title, the cashback is only on 2 of the 41 possible categories, of which the average is 3.0024% (according to those provided in OP)

Edit: further to my uneducated statistical data analysis the 15% falls over 3 standard deviations from the mean!

  • +2

How do you know what category an item falls under?

For example, a robot vac? Does that fall under "Home" or something else? Health & Household? Electronics?

I guess I could just order and see what tracks and if it's a low cashback then I just return/cancel?

  • +1

Stick vacuums are listed both under "Home" and "Upright Vacuums". Are they eligible for the 15%?

I don't want to get boned by Amazon with the 0.7% unlisted category or some sh#t.

  • +2

Wording (All Categories) may catch you off guard.

  • what's the category for Instant Pot Vortex Plus 5.7L ?

    • +1

Kitchen is 10% home is 15%, I'm guessing Kitchen is a narrower category, thus Instant Pot should be the kitchen one.

      • Or is it electronics?

  • "Up to 15% Cashback (All Categories) @ Amazon Australia via Cashrewards"

    Change the title please

  • Do Amazon devices include Kindles?

  • Beginner question,
How do we know the product category? I couldn't see that it states explicitly. I am looking for office chairs and not sure whether they are in the home, furniture or office category?

    • +1

If you on desktop ver, top left says the category under “≡ ALL”
If on mobile app, scroll down past Description til you see “ Best Sellers Rank: xx in * category *”

      • Thanks a lot

  • No cap?

  • So, Kindle paperwhite is 10%?

  • New VR included?

  • How do you find what category an item is listed in.

    • +1

On a browser, look at the top left in bold category.

  • +1

Why negs? 10% and 15% are not good enough?

  • weird i ordered a vacuum and it only tracked at 10% even though its under the home category

    • maybe it got classified as kitchen as home is more general category. why can't kitchen be 15% too theres too much complexities. Thinking of buying a robot vacuum too.

    • seems they changed the percentages today.. bait and switch..?

  • Tip to find out which category your purchase will track from TA:

A good way to find if a product is within an eligible Amazon cashback category or not, is to search for the product on a desktop browser then click through to it. The category in bold at top left will determine eligibility. (need to compare with our rates)

    • Weird. I searched using the Home category and bought as I thought hey it's under home.

Now I click on it after purchase item is under kitchen & dining?

      what gives.

      • Yeah it’s annoying. Cashback follows the more specific category though. Even if kitchen is under home, it follows the kitchen rates.

        • Bought a vacuum, "kitchen and dining" is bold on top left but underneath has "Home›Household Cleaning Tools & Vacuums›Vacuums". Must've tracked under "home" as only got 10% and not 15% for "kitchen"

          • @shrimpee: Yeah true. Did some e perimenting yesterday when home was 15 still and it tracked as home not the kitchen in bold.

I guess that bold rule doesn't follow anymore

  • +1

    Bought under Home Improvement.
    Hoped for 15%.
Prepared myself for 3% for Tools.
    Ended up with 0.7% (41c).
    Amazon is weird.

    • what was the category in bold on the upperleft corner of the product page?

      • I'm only on a tablet.
        SOG Powerpint.
        Took some advice above:
Best Sellers Rank 14,632 in Home Improvement (See Top 100 in Home Improvement)
        177 in Multitools.
Product page definitely said Home Improvement and >> worked its way down through Tools subcategories across the page.
Looking at it today it's now got Sport and Outdoors in bold in the upperleft but then 'Deals', 'Best Sellers' etc across the page.

The black version is still under Home Improvement today https://www.amazon.com.au/SOG-PP1002-CP-PowerPint-Multi-Tool…

        • Yeah I tried it with a robo vacuum it seems like the category in bold is not being followed. The category in bold was Kitchen but best seller category is Home and it tracked with the rate of home.

    • emeister this is appalling - should be pinned to the top of the page

  • They reduced Home but increased Kitchen… -_-

  • Anyone know if cashback is valid when Amazon has the automatic discount/coupons applied to the item, not a manually entered code as per the ineligible list?

    • If you have to tick a box then it wont be eligible for casback.
