As the title says - Garmin 1030 Plus BUNDLE
This is not the stand along unit, rather the bundle.

For the money, and fact stock is on hand, this is a steal.

I received mine in 6 days.

Other members have pointed out the unit has USA Maps only, or USA pre-installed.
I can confirm that the unit came with both USA and EU maps.

Simply downed the Garmin Express Desktop app, downloaded the AU/NZ maps, and pushed it out to the unit. No problems at all. Seamless and 100% free. No charge for the maps, no nothing.

So far the unit is working exactly as expected and all reviews indicated. Solid bit of kit and has the mount, speed and cadence sensor, heart rate monitor, mounts and cables all included.

Hope this helps someone else that might be chasing a bike computer.
(Only down side I found, through my own lack of proper investigation prior mind you - the Garmin Connect IQ Store doesn't have Tidal, for anyone that runs this, instead of being a sheep and running spotify). :p

  • Good price for 1030
Is battery life still an issue?
Is the screen visibility good outside?
I'm still happy with my Wahoo Bolt

1030 plus has an upgraded battery over the 1030. not that i ever had issues with the 1030 battery
the screen is an upgrade over the 1030 also

    • No found issues as yet. Just a little slow to get into first gear (route map), but, cant complain, i'm still screwing around with my helmet and cleats by the time its telling me to get moving… So prob a blessing after all. :) Other than that, only 1 short ride but great!

Was recently $599 at pushys, local retailer. Still a good deal but just worth pointing out it's been cheaper before

    • was that the full plus deal?

    • Was that the 'bundle' or stand alone unit?
And didnt they only have 1 or 2 in stock?
      Either way, gone now…

      • +1

Full bundle and it wasn’t one or two

I bought 530 from Amazon Uk and it came with Europe maps. Had to buy ANZ maps for $30.

    • Did you try to DL the maps via the Express app and push to the unit before paying the $30?
Maybe the map swap isnt available with the 530…?

      • The free map swaps feature is for the x80 series I believe.
30$ is still reasonable but no doubt you could get from elsewhere.

        https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2019/08/how-to-install-free-maps…

        • Agree - $30 is minor in the scheme.
The 1030 seems to be free maps as part of the device… :)

      • Yes I tried but didn’t work.

You can download maps free for Fenix.

  • I just use a "tough" Nokia XR20 I got on run out with a Quadlock Mount. I prefer the Komoot App, you can add cadence sensors if you want (I don't race anymore so no real interest in any monitoring these days) Mine is mostly just for navigation and photos. MTB (single track and longer adventure riding on trails etc) but I can also pay for a coffee at a cafe etc as well. It even has uSD expansion and an earphone, i'd forgotten how useful those two were.

Weird how this is getting more upvotes than The Australian retail that went for $599 the other week (was up for like a month). Blows my mind. Nevertheless still a bargain.

    • It's also an old model now, the 1040 non bundle is at least$750 on eBay plus though.
