      Still “calculating”

@gotyourback - Can you provide some clarity?

Would you agree that regardless whether Lyca pays up or not, SB needs to pay the Cashback if we have followed all steps as required?

My suspicion is that it was not applicable for the $22.50 plan. If that were the case, it is either an advertising mistake by SB or miscommunication from Lyca to SB as to which plan was applicable.

Either way, it’s not our fault - we followed the instructions and purchased the plan that was advertised.

      • Shopback is notorious for stuffing up Cashbacks.

      • -1

Sorry for the delayed response mate! Here's what's going on:

Your cashback for this order will initially show as $0, but don't worry! It should be adjusted to the correct amount within two weeks from the purchased date.

        • I'm over 2 weeks since purchasing i think and it still stuck on calculating after a manual request

        • It’s been well over 2 weeks for me too and I still see mine as calculating with no correct amount tracked shown

        • Same with me. Purchase date 16/03. Still shows as 'Calculating' not $0 as you claim. Well over 2 weeks.

        • Hey everyone,

We'd like to apologize for some inaccurate information previously shared. We stated that Cashback would be updated within two weeks, but that's not entirely accurate.

The truth is, the update timeline varies depending on the merchant. While we strive to update your Cashback status as quickly as possible, it's best to refer to the specific date displayed on your Cashback information.

We understand this can be confusing, and we're working on improving the clarity of our communication.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

          • @gotyourback: Well, I don't know about everyone else, but the date stated on my one is 14-Jun-2024.

            Is that acceptable?

            It's still sitting in "Calculating".

What if we wait 2 months, only to have it "Rejected" —- what then?

          • @gotyourback: If the merchant refuses to pay - for example what if they say the $22.50 plan doesn't qualify?

            What then?

Will SB still honour the cashback?

Or will we - the customer - have to wear the loss?

Granted it is $22.50. It's not going to break the bank, but that is beside the point.

The promotion was advertised with fanfare. We took up the promotion and did nothing wrong. Why should we wear the loss?

            • @proudwanderer: Hey There, if your Cashback gets rejected even after being validated, don't worry!

Shoot us a message or email with details and we can appeal it for you.

  • Got a response to my cancellation email request, upto 2wks to process, didn't supply ID like I was told to do.

    • I submitted a cancellation request too, mid-last week. Lycamobile refunded into my bank account today.

      • Just checked, no refund as of yet.

      • How do you go about requesting a cancellation?

I may have to take that route too unfortunately. SB has gone silent on this whole thing. Not even responding in here.

        • Yeah, not happy with the silence from Shopback. I emailed Lebara customer service (couldn't get past their automated phone system to a real person). They responded next day.

          • @Herbs: @HopSkipJumpFallSplat @Herbs I requested a refund and they asked for a reason. How did you guys respond to this? Cheers

            • @90percent: I didn't get asked a reason.
If they had of asked why I would of said your partnership with SB and incorrect advertisement of a promo, and failed cashback

            • @90percent: They refunded me in not even a minute when I told them I had removed the eSIM from my phone and needed a new QR code to scan. It looks like they cannot just send a new eSIM so they said just get the refund and buy a new one (which I wont be doing…)

So if you didn't get a physical sim, you can try that.

            • @90percent: I didn't want to mention the Ozbargain/Shopback problems etc (it could confuse the situation) so I said my work gave me a phone so I didn't need the sim card anymore.

  • Just checked and my order hasn't tracked - I have lodged a claim through the shopback app.

  • Mine also didn't track. I lodged a missing cashback request and put the thread URL there.

    Will check next week

  • has anyone's changed from calculating to tracked yet? what does no-shows mean? does that mean we need to activate it within 30 days?

    • +6

They’re probably waiting for everyone to simply cancel their orders and then the calculating will change to rejected.

      OR

People taking the wait and see approach — just hanging on to their SIM cards and not activate it in fear of potentially locking in a $22.50 “loss” - again this could potentially change from calculating to rejected and SB then using the excuse that you didn’t activate within 30 days.

SB has dealt with this whole fiasco horribly. I and many others believe that SB needs to honour these cashbacks regardless if Lyca pays up or not.

I suspect Lyca’s excuse is that the $22.50 plans don’t qualify.

So either Lyca communicated incorrectly to SB or SB made a mistake on the qualifying plan.

Either way - the fact is that SB advertised it and we took up the offer.

Regardless if SB manages to get Lyca to pay up or not - SB needs to honour the Cashback —- even if it means they have to pay out of pocket.

      Everyone agree?

      • Doesn't say anywhere that you have to activate within 30 days, otherwise I wouldn't have got this "deal" at all!

        • You are correct. I just made that assumption based on the rule always applying to the Boost Sims - that you have to activate within 30 days.

So if SB rejects the cashback and the excuse is that you didn't activated within 30 days - we can point out that this requirement was never part of the T's & C's.

    • No still Calculating after submitting the Missing cashback.

Surprising thing is that @gotyourback has gone quite? As it has not tracked for anyone, it needs to be looked at collectively rather than each one of chasing.

      • +1

        Yes, he has completely disappeared

      • Hey There!

Could you drop us a DM with all the details (email, order ID, Etc) and we'll look into it for you!

        • I activated the Sim, selecting port-in but it never works. According to the account online the recharge was successfully, but the plan is fake - no data, no call, no SMS at all.

Lyca Mobile is certainly the worst provider to deal with. Last deal $3 Sim also failed to port in at all.

  • ok so if no minimum term to activate it so ill keep it as spare back up if it tracks.

  • I held off the Amaysim deal yesterday. There was no fanfare about it on the website, upsized cashback, Notification, email, etc.

At least with this Lyca mobile deal, there was fanfare about it on the website on the banner, upsized cashback, flash sale, deals email, etc. I’ll have screenshots.
    those should get approved regardless.

    • I’ll have screenshots. those should get approved regardless.

I wish I had your confidence

  • Anyone has any luck with tracking? Or should I just contact Lyca to cancel?

    • No one has. And from the looks of things we have been told that we will need to wait til June.

So the decision is whether to risk $22.50 for a $7.50 profit.

Of course if you already have a use or intended use of the SIM card then maybe just keep it.
Otherwise if the intention was purely just to profit off the deal - then it may not be worth the risk.

Problem is - according to some members - cancelling and getting a refund from Lycamobile has not been smooth sailing.

      • My refund finally came in yesterday.

        • Hi @HotSkipJumpFallSplat,

Which email address did you use to request a refund?

          Thanks.

          • +1

@proudwanderer: They gave me an email address over the phone to use, but I didn't use that one, nor follow other instructions, I used [email protected]

            • @HopSkipJumpFallSplat: Oh, how come you didn't use the one they gave you? Better results with the complaints one?

              • +1

@proudwanderer: Dont know about better, probably not.
They wanted ID, I said I was not prepared to supply that and it was unnecessary.
They wanted payment card numbers, which I didnt have due to paying with single use virtual zip pay card.
I dont have the email they told me to use sorry.

                • @HopSkipJumpFallSplat: I also asked for a refund. Used [email protected] with success.
I actually tried to activate sim but platform wouldn’t take my ID and I didn’t want to give them this info by email or via their chat line.

  • Shite as shopback. I'm not confident. They will just end up blaming us for not doing it properly.

  • They rejected my claim and now are showing me a $10 cashback

    • Why $10? Isn’t it supposed to be $30

Anyway can’t say I’m surprised. In one of my earlier posts - I said that I fully expect the claim to be rejected.

That is poor form IMO. Regardless whether Lyca plays ball or not, I expect SB to honour all Cashbacks because they advertised it.

What was the reason they gave for rejecting you?

      • 10 cashback was for the smaller Plan. Obviously it was advertised wrong by Shopback. Shopback should be footing the Bill not Lyca. Anyway I’ve got my refund back for both orders. If I get any cashback will be a sort of bonus. I value the new mobile number and free sim plan more than the profit. We need new mobile numbers for a lot of the deals that are posted on here.

Held off amaysim deal Because of the stuff up on this deal I regret that and that was sorted overnight !!! This is becoming nearly a month. Ridiculous

      • No real reason just vauge generic bullshit.

You've clicked on another browser extension after clicking from ShopBack

  • mines still stuck at calculating and im told to they should have an update by june 14th i think thats a bit strange to be told to wait that long.

    • Yep. Same. We might find that we wait til June, and then it gets rejected.

  • Hi there,
We noticed you made a click-through to Lyca Mobile through ShopBack between the 13th of March 2024 to the 18th of March 2024.
We’ve identified a sales reporting issue with Lyca Mobile, meaning that purchases between these dates may not have been successfully tracked to your ShopBack account. Not to worry though, we’re here to help!
If you made an order during this period, and still are yet to see your cashback track, please submit a missing cashback claim here.
If you did not make an order on this occasion, we hope that ShopBack can help you in the future and apologize for the inconvenience of this communication.
Of course, if you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us here, or simply reply to this email and our customer service team will be more than happy to assist.
    Cheers
    Team ShopBack

Anyone also get this email? Had already filed mine.

    • Yes I did - despite having already submitted a missing cashback claim weeks ago that is still sitting in "Calculating".

Probably a generic email that went out to everyone.

I haven't tried resubmitting a new claim though - so not sure if it is possible to submit another claim.

  • anyone received sim pack it's been over a month mine haven't arrived?

  • +1

Any updates anyone ? Mine there is no update from shopback on the request raised as well. It's still showing as pending and no further updates later.

  • mine is still calculating . the missing cashback is at $22.50 is that the same as others? or should i submit another missing ticket and ask to have it corrected to $30?

  • I gave up. Got a refund using the email posted in the comments

  • +2

gotyourback said to wait till 14/6 "While we investigate this, the Cashback amount will likely stay at $0 or "Calculating." Don't worry, we'll send you an email update by the date mentioned in your Cashback description which should be June 14th.

We'll get this figured out! In the meantime, feel free to reach out if you have any other questions."

    • Mike just got rejected wtf said I pressed another extension when. I clearly didnt

      • Same here and I’m an experienced ShopBack user with $3k in total savings with them already

        @gotyourback what’s happening?

        • Yep - this is exactly what I said in one of my earlier posts —- that it will get rejected.

I got the rejection email today too.

Obviously Lycamobile is clearly not paying up.

However, as I and others have said —- SB should be honouring these cashbacks regardless whether Lyca pays up or not because SB advertised it.

I wonder if anyone actually got the cashback at all

          • @proudwanderer: Complete bullshit I even got a email saying they had problems tracking lycamobild for some reason

            • @StarPlatinum: I assume this is the one you got? This is their standard email. I received same sort of emails for other claims that have been rejected in the past.

Hi xxxxx, we regret to inform that your missing Cashback claim for Lyca Mobile has been rejected.

Upon investigation, your Lyca Mobile transaction for order ID xxxxxxxx was not tracked accurately which could be due to the following reasons:

              • You've clicked on another browser extension after clicking from ShopBack
              • Other web pages or browsers (including search sites, social media, store sites, promotional or discount sites) were opened after clicking from ShopBack
              • Clicking through to another page from a banner, pop-up or advertisement from the store's page.
              • Using Antivirus, Cleanup or Adblocker applications may also disrupt Cashback tracking as tracking cookies are required to accurately track your transactions.

To ensure your Cashback is tracked accurately, read up on "How to to earn Cashback" If you need any further assistance, you can reach us via live chat.

              Regards,
              Team ShopBack

        • @BargainsGrabber - What's happened is most likely what I have theorised before:

          • The $22.50 plan probably didn't qualify but was either miscommunicated to SB or SB advertised the wrong thing (someone said they got their cashback tracked on the $25 plan)
          • Lycamobile refused to pay up for the cashback
          • SB would have lost a lot of money if they honoured everything, so what do they do? They ask everyone to do a claim and wait a couple of months, and then they reject all the claims with generic reasons

The smart ones are those who took the action to cancel their SIM cards immediately and thus avoided losing $22.50

        • I suspect Lyca rejected them/us.

  • Same as others, got the rejection email.

    • just got my rejection email 10 minutes ago 😢 they should at least give $22.50 considering they didn't use caution upon advertising this offer

  • Far out! Got that generic cashback rejection email too! after 2 months that's what we got? Whats next option we have?

    • +1

Recent eBay cashbacks are rejected as well due to usage of gift card for payment.

Better to avoid Shopback as much as possible.

      • +1

I have a Uniqlo cashback confirmed by Apr 2 which hasn't paid out still. Reported the delay a few days after too.

      • Recent eBay cashbacks are rejected as well due to usage of gift card for payment.

        Wow that's new!

  • Help @gotyourback…

Generic rejection email. I even got the email saying shopback messed up the tracking in the first place

  • I got the rejection too. The not tracked accurately is not an excuse. I follow a very careful procedure whenever I use cashback sites. No other extensions except for SB but even then I only install if it's compatible with the merchant.

It was a double the burn for me.

I feel so ripped off by Lyca. My Lyca service would not work properly. I couldn't use voice or SMS. Recorded message was my number was not in service/connected. However I could receive SMS but only when they were sent by Lyca and data was working. Lyca kept on dragging it out when I requested a refund after trying to get it fixed it felt they purposely waited until it was expired to write in their last email we apologize for the delay in responding, there is no active service recharge payment so unable to refund. I'm not sure if I can complain to the TIO about them.

  • this deal has a lot to lose because the price. can we file case to teleco ombudsman to push shopback their wrong doing?

    • +2

Maybe the best route is to cancel the order and get a refund.

Is it too late to do that?

Or what about a chargeback via the credit card company?

      • Did you proceed with the credit card chargeback? I’m thinking this. The SIM card doesn’t work, it’s impossible to get any help from Lyca. So useless.

  • Got the rejection email as well.

  • Cashback not eligible as well

  • I've explained to Shopback about this missing purchase before activate the sim card. got an AI or real operator reena suggest time needed to validate this. This operator at least noted my intention of activate the sim within 30days while to wait for shopback to resolve in this time.

Couldn't do the refund now. will wait for a confirmation from the shopback rep here or response (not generic) to understand if they will honour this mistake from them or if shopback say it's lyca fault. one way or another, most of us here have follow this promo the day to the dot to claim the deserve cashback follow their advertisement. It is a lose lose situation if they not honour this then. No one wins, I will see to file a complaint against them

  • +1

I received the missing cashback claim rejection from SB.
SB recorded my clicked record and I have order receipt issued by Lyca. I had no issue with SB transaction during this purchase.
I am thinking about escalating this fraudulent conduct ( I suspect it's Lyca mobile not accepting their offer) and they should ban any cashback platform in the future.

    • I also think it’s Lyca mobile not paying up.

But that’s beside the point. SB advertised it - the banners were all over their website.

They should honour it, otherwise it is false advertising and they have misled their customers, regardless if they were misled by Lyca or not.

If there are any quarrels with Lyca that’s for SB to take it up with them.

Why should the customers be the ones to bear the losses?

Looks like the only course of action now is to request a refund and/or do chargebacks via the credit card companies.

      What a hassle!

I wonder if this qualifies as an ACCC matter….

  • mine is still stuck at calculating $22.50. i never activated it as it didn't state it anywhere besides if SB doesn't pay up ill seek a refund,. were we meant to activate the sim?

  • Missing shopback claim rejected so annoyed. @gotyourback

    Reasons listed are false.

You've clicked on another browser extension after clicking from ShopBack

    I used their browser.

  • I've just received email from Shopback my appeal was successful!

    Dear ShopBack user,

Thanks for your patience, I have an update.

Lyca Mobile has just replied to our Missing Cashback ticket informing us that the appeal was successful!

This is great news as it means we'll be getting the commission to pass on as Cashback! I've already credited the Cashback to your account, and you should now see it in your 'Lifetime Earnings' tab as “Pending”.

I hope this is all in order now.

Do let me know if there is anything else we can do for you, thank you!
    Kind regards,

    • How did you do an appeal?

    • +1

How did you get that? I emailed them yesterday to chase missing cashback claim filed 2 months ago and was told I have to wait to the confirmation date listed in the transaction (another month to go!). Ludicrous
