[PC, VR, Steam] Half Life Alyx $29.90 @ Steam

360

After picking up a quest 3 a few weeks ago I have been waiting for this to drop in price. This is a very well reviewed PCVR game. Usual dropped price based on previous deals.

all this time maybe I should play it again :D I did finish this game when it first came out on the PSVR on PC then went to the quest 1 and finished it on the quest 1 :D might be good to replay it on the quest 3

      There's always the mods.

Additional levels, totally new environments, etc - I'm enjoying the Bioshock Rapture mod

there needs to be a CS source mod :D

    • Do you play it the teleport way, or do you use the controller to walk around?

      • Nah I am a VR veteran I play with full motion always

Sitting or standing? I tried that PS5 kayak game sitting down and I got motion sick after 10 minutes.

I can play Superhot just fine, because you're not really walking around. More like stepping.

      • Teleport

  • Head crabs and VR… no thanks

  • How's the quest 3?? I'm currently trying to figure out if it's worth $799 or if I should just grab a quest 2 off marketplace for $300…

I am really enjoying it but not getting enough time to go down the rabbit hole that is VR. I would say that VR is still not general public ready, even more so for PCVR. I have never used a quest 2, so it's hard to compare. I also considered getting a second hand quest 2. I even agreed to buy one and then the seller ghosted when I arrived for pickup (I hate marketplace). Most marketplace ones look very dirty! I have got very used to the pass though mode, even if it is just between games. This is very handy and I don't think available on quest 2. I am happy with my purchase. Also happy with just the 128GB version. I have not run into a space issue yet. Most games are only a few GB. I don't have time to justify more space.

Thanks very much - this is very helpful!

    • I'd get a second hand Quest 2, and if you really love VR, then maybe get the Quest 3 when those also drop in price (or maybe even look at the Quest 4 in the future if you decide it'd be worth it).

  • The recent PSVR2 working with PC news from Sony has me itchy to buy… but I know it will be ages before Sony gets it together and who knows how it will work…
    Damnit!

    Might buy anyway though lol
