Have been looking at this LG 60PA6500 for a little while and this is cheaper by about $25 than it was at Good Guys/Bing Lee/HN on that weekend sale. Not the best plasma but still a good deal.

We got HN garden city to match this price on the 6140 today. They were peeved!
Bought the 60PA6500 60" TV last weekend at Good Guys for $1031 - very good price for a well known brand TV of this size although it is an entry level model and the picture settings need tweaking to improve the image - but that is recommended for any TV.
FYI there is a firmware update on the LG.com.au website which is easily loaded from a USB stick.
Thankfully Good Guys have a 30 day best price guarantee refunding 120% of the difference, so I should get $15 back, bringing it down to $1016.
Ironically if I had paid their higher ticket price of $1070 or so, I would get a larger refund and end up at a slightly lower out of pocket price - this might help anyone else who bought it last week from Good Guys.
How do the blacks look after tweaking, I was reading and from what I saw they were quite poor.
Better - although I still need to tweak more and no amount of tweaking will provide amazing black levels on this TV as there are others like Samsung and Panasonic that just achieve better.
On the Amazon reviews for this TV there is a good review which has some detailed tweaks which are a good place to start from and then adjust to suit preferences.
I am assuming that dicksmiths still accept everyday giftcards?
if so, remember entertainment book/RACQ members can get another 5% off, so that is another $50 saving.

I think you mean Wish Gift Card?. Yes they are on the store payment options listed on this web page. Looks like that's the only gift card that Dick Smith accepts.

been looking into the 55LM6410 and its 15% off atm ($1,269.90) .. I think it was 20% off on DSE sale last time though.. Still the best price around atm.
