  • Im clicking free trial but nothing happens

    • Scroll down and you can find it. Seems like an Android only bug, the button on the banner isn't functioning.

      • Yep found it.

Bought esim trial with credits btw

  • Where can the 100MB data roaming be used?

    • +1

      130 countries
      AUS included

Updated. Managed to retrieve and reformat those listed in their web page.

  • Few tips

    • buy esim trial using $3 referral credit.
    • I think you can buy the global esim without the esim trial as they are 2 seperate esims
    • refund the 50c trial using the refund button.
    • Thanks, Updated 1 and 3.
For 2, the payment option of Credits (to purchase the global eSIM) won't be activated if you haven't made any payment to them. And trial is the cheapest option I find to activate credits (in other words, take the price down from US$2 to US$0.5 for the first year subscription)

  • dont most phone plans already allow you to recieve text messages from overseas? I know mine does (felix)

    • +1

Yes. But this one is a disposable anonymous Austrian number (+43) that can be used for registering on websites where you prefer not to disclose your personal phone number (+61).

      • How can I find the number? Or have the removed the ability to see it?

EDIT: Nevermind I found it when you login on the website

  • IIRC Redbull eSIM and eskimo both do 1GB eSIM trials that lasts 1-year. No cost.

Both also Austria numbers. Haven't tried SMS receiving.

    • Where do you find the Austria number for the installed Redbull eSim?

      • The outgoing traffics are all routed to Austria. If you're lucky that you can send SMS to any number, then you should be able to get the "phone number" of a data-only card.

        • How lol

          • @easternculture: That's how international roaming works. Your data is routed back to wherever the original service provider is. That's why when you're making a call in another country, you're charged twice the "standard" rates (though you may not feel it as carriers quote one fixed rate in most cases).

Depends on how the roaming is set up, you may get traffic routed to different places as well. For example, I sometime found Eskimo routes my data to Singapore instead of Austria if I'm on Optus network instead of Telstra.

            • @xmagic: I meant this

If you're lucky that you can send SMS to any number, then you should be able to get the "phone number" of a data-only card.

              • @easternculture: Most data cards come with a phone number (IoT specific ones are a notable exception) but you may not have a mean to see what the number is, as the plan contains no quota for call nor text messages. However if you can send messages somehow, then you can find out the number on the destination phone.
