Not a lot of discounts across the store. I understand this is their new approach and can see where they are coming from, but it doesn't mean I have to like it. Not sure how this tactic will go but I guess time will tell. If there were more discounts I probably would have found some stuff to get to $75 to get over the free shipping mark. As it stands I just bought an extra battery.
Got ourselves a real marketing wiz here folks. Forget advertising, brand recognition and quality, apparently discounts are the only way to sell stock. Imagine how trustworthy their store could be if the RRP on every product had a red line through it, with a lower price next to it. Genuis.
They've stated that they have wanted to change direction and not have sales all the time which is what they used to do. Look I get that it's not a great look for the brand to be discounting all the time, but I've spent quite a lot of money at/on Olight and I hardly use the stuff. It's a bit like my/everyone's board game collection and Steam game collection. These companies are never going to get money from me when it's regular price. When it's discounted I'll buy stuff I don't even need. I've already got lots of torches I don't really even use but If it's discounted a bit I'll probably buy more to add to the collection or as gifts.
This is their first real event in 3 months and they are discounting like 10 items. Even if they did a bulk item buy and you get a bit of discount for each additional item I probably would have spent $75, maybe even $150. Instead, I buy 1 extra battery. I'm not even asking for deep discounts just a little something, otherwise I'm just going to wait.
Edit: I'll also point out, I've bought all sorts of things from them including knives, multitools, trinkets, night lights, camping lights, pouches. I've also bought an Olight hat, hankerchief, a couple of whistles. I even have an Olight astronaut charger for their obulb.

Seems more responsible than letting it gather dust at the bottom of a container and forgotten about. I'm a bit of a collector of torches.

Ok, so I go to the Olight Store website and put in the order, go through pay-pal payment, then I get taken back to the Olight Orders screen where it shows that the order is still pending and needs to be paid for.

Yes, had a similar experience. Following what you described, I clicked the cart and went through to payment - PayPal opened up in an external window.
