Pretty damn good deal.
Great remake, just finished this a couple of months ago via Xbox Game Pass.
Highly recommended to anyone who likes survival horror games.$20 on steam sounds about right, will wait until then
I'm holding out. I own the OG but never played it, seeing as there is a remaster I think I'd want to play that first
What are you going to do if you hold out for years until the remake is at the pricepoint you want, you grab it, install it, and then realisee it's not for you?
It will sit cozily underneath the original that I bought and never played I guess
Be warned that the PC version of this game still has stuttering issues if anyone's considering it, even on high end hardware.
Just started playing the remake a couple of nights ago on the PC and it's pretty great. Playing on an OLED screen with RT and HDR turned on the game's atmospheric as hell.
Oddly enough I am not feeling the same level of tension as I did playing the OG though, not sure if it's because I have played the OG and sort of know what to expect.
I think that happens with any old movie/game, when you come back to it, its just not as scary as your first time.
For sure, the atmosphere in the remake is on another level though.
Also available on Big W for $39 (https://www.bigw.com.au/product/dead-space-ps5/p/251941) if that is closer to you for click and collect.
better play on pc or ps5? how to choose?
PC 100% this game was made for pc.
It plays wonderfully on PS5.
the game was made for mouse and keyboard. its way harder to play with a controller.
@kungfuman: You’ll get used to it. Bit like how FPS games are more ideal with Click and Slide controls but 90% of players of those games are on console.
@EitherWayUp: I would rather not the original non remastered version of this game was made for PC first and ported to consoles. FPS is traditionally better with a mouse and keyboard its just how it works. "getting used to it" means the game was never designed for controllers and you have to rethink how you should play it, even though it more natural to play the game with a mouse and keyboard.
@kungfuman: Yeah.. but ehh… auto-aim.
@EitherWayUp: auto aim = no skill.
@kungfuman: It’s also ok to just have fun when playing games.
@kungfuman: I played the OG on PC with controller and had no issues, it's a single player FPS so advantages of MKB don't really matter, rather sit on the couch and play casually
@kungfuman: Is it fps? I thought it was third person shooter
@kungfuman: "more natural" = "I learnt how to play with a kb and mouse"
Plenty of people have grown up learning to play FPS's on consoles and never touched a PC
@Randolph Duke: they're alot more pcs in the world than consoles. the PC master race is still much bigger than console players.
@kungfuman: No one cares about shitty format wars, it's not 2003. More PC's than consoles does nothing to dispel what I said either.
@Randolph Duke: actually alot of people care or PC gaming wouldn't be the most popular form of gaming the in world.
@kungfuman: That's nice dear.
@Randolph Duke: yes it is nice.
It definitely is not good on PC, graphically yeah and high fps but it's ruined by the constant stuttering.
sounds like a pc issue to me i get smooth 60 to 80fps when I play it on pc.
very scary, 9/10
If you got a new phone number from Boost or elsewhere remember to sign up to JB Hifi Perks for $10 welcome voucher, got him for $27.
Got the original on ps3 and Pc.. Not cheap enough to pull trigger yet.
Well I might cave later lol
A few drink drinks later… ahh what the heck.
Can attest it's very scary, couldn't last a couple of hours XD
Nice, can highly recommend even though I've only played the original! (This is on my pile o' shame short list.)
On Game Pass too if you have the luxury
