Hey all,
Was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on outdoor swimming areas such as Ferntree Gully Quarry.
Currently closed due to water contamination. Bugger that. Still looking to soak up that slither of summer heat we have left.
Don't mind travelling, live around the Eastern Suburbs. Beaches would be my last choice.
Cheers

Harold Holt Swim Centre
Right next door to the JFK Shooting Range.
Isn't that by Mozart Death House?
This is the website that you want https://swimmingholeheaven.com/vic-melbourne.htm
Particularly in your part of the world
Lysterfield Lake
https://swimmingholeheaven.com/vic-lysterfield-lake.htmPound Bend Tunnel
https://swimmingholeheaven.com/vic-pound-bend.htmI can recommend both.
Lysterfield Lake is now (mostly) reopened after storm damage.
Pound Pend is a lot of fun, and a good opportunity to go for a walk and see some kangaroos before and/or after. Moving water/very gentle rapids is a plus.
lake and occasional blue-green algae outbreaks
Be very careful and check the stats re MND around lakes.
Where was this post on the long weekend!!?!
Thank you for the list AngoraFish.
Good stuff, thanks for sharing
Outdoor swimming In Melbourne outside of January? No thanks.
We just had a heatwave of 3 consecutive 39 degree days in March……. over a long weekend as well.
Doveton Pool in the Park is one of my personal favourites, despite its location
