Note SF2 is the cheaty arcade versions, meaning unfair and not fun for any normal person

        • ???

Do you mean slightly more unfair AI than SNES and other home versions?

          • +4

@ItsMeAgro: Correct (but more than just 'slightly'.. the computer reads your inputs and iirc hits harder than you do). The arcade roms were designed this way to eat your money. The rom they used also had a difficulty bug and I'm not sure whether they used the fixed version rom or not

          lack of skill maybe?

    Free play online?

    • +2

This software includes modes or features for which an internet connection and a paid membership to Nintendo Switch Online are required. Any online play modes require a paid membership to Nintendo Switch Online.

      • Damn no console offers free online play?

        • +5

If you want free online, pc is the only way

          • +2

@Sepp: Fightcade sounds like what you want

Street Fighter 2: Champion Edition is a cracking good game, probably my favourite version for just pure fun, Super and Hyper are also fantastic, the whole franchise was really built on these 3 legendary games 🏆

With the Alpha and SF3 series in there as well, there's a lot of value for the price 👍

  • same price at xbox and steam

I have SF2 cartridge, SF4 xbox, SF5 on steam, wondering whether to buy this for which platform :/ switch or xbox?

  • I have this and love the games included but have had unbeliveable difficulty playing online.

The lag online is unplayable on my end, I hope there is a fix. Has anybody else had this problem?

    • I had some issues with SF5, mostly other players being at far away locations

    • If you have a PC, then you can play all these games (plus many more fighting games including Marvel, Xmen, Dark Stalkers, NeoGeo etc) via the Fightcade app (it's a free front end that matches players all over the world) and the netcode is very good (it uses rollback netcode like Street Fighter 6).

I tried it a few times and the experience was great.

Apparently the Capcom 30th Aniversery collection uses rollback too, but if so, it seems it's not as good as Fightcade's implementation.

Bonus is you can also play tones of other multiplayer stuff too, like Final Fight and Double Dragon and even console games (SNES, Megadrive etc). It's a great and free platform, just needs a little effort to setup, but then you got an even better system then what this pack (as good as it is) will offer you.

    Time to recall childhood memory

  • +2

If you are wondering, yes, the Guile glitches in SF2 works.

    • +2

WHAT!? No way. Handcuffs and invisible throw aren't patched out in this version?

      • +2

Nope, I was surprised when I managed to pull them off.

  • They should have included street fighter 2 rainbow edition. So many games titles have taken inspiration from this release.

    • +1

That was a hacked rom. Not an official release. Hyper fighting was released in response to rainbow edition

  • Third strike with input lag?

  • Ah my misspent youth

  • +1

Joycons aren't the best controllers to play street fighter with hmm

    • They work.

Pro controller is better, and SNES switch controller is my favourite for these games, but you can always buy an arcade stick if you like.

  • This is good value, for the price of 8 credits you get all these games, if you had this 30 years ago you would have been king of your street
