    Anyone have the list

  • So you have to go to store, and hope the games you bring are on the list?

    • +8

What a stupid process that is!

      • +3

About as stupid as their policy to go in store to get a refund on a preorder… They don't like to make it easy for customers

        • +1

That loses them so many of my pre orders honestly.

It's such a pain I just go via Amazon since it takes 2 seconds to cancel it unless they've got a exclusive limited edition I want.

      • -8

Do you expect a staff to go to your house to check your inventory?

        • +3

What? No, you would just publish the list online? Their alternative process is to ring up the store. While it's quicker it's still slower than just looking up a list of tradable game.

    • Its definitely silly, but I do find calling them to be a quicker/easier way to find out.

    Game List: https://imgur.com/a/KY8i5SR

Not my original content btw. I saved it from here last time there was a trade in deal.

    • Damn if this is the list they're using then I can't trade in my copy of Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe..

      • +1

It’s there as “New Super Mario…”

        • Ohhh thank you for pointing that out!!

    • I believe this list has been updated as Gotham Knights is nolonger included in the promotion.

      • +1

I traded gotham knights, guy said as long as over $10 value

  • Nintendo - Mario™ Kart 24-V Ride-on Racer
The ultimate in virtual reality gaming

  • +1

Which one should I get that has 2-4 local multiplayers, for kids under 10yo? Prefer the 3D type of game play.

Mario Party Superstars (assuming this is better than SM Party because it's newer?)
    Super Mario Odyssey
    Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury

    • +1

I'm personally heavily bias towards Mario Party Superstars - very similar to the Mario Party games I played as a kid. Can play alone, but gets even better the more people you have (up to 4) and I think this new one has online capability (which my Nintendo 64 didn't have when I was growing up).
      Highly recommend!

Should also note that it may result in similar emotions as playing Monopoly or Uno when they start stealing each others Stars…

      • Thanks, I got Mario Party Superstars! Family and friends are all obsessed with Boomerang Fu (which evokes similar cries and hurt feelings as Uno lol) so thought another party game would be good in the mix. Can't go wrong, such a classic!

    • +1

Super Mario 3d world is fantastic for kids, it has 2-4 player local multiplayer and is 3D with fixed perspective. Odyssey is the better game but doesn't have multiplayer and is probably too complex for younger kids.

      • I went with Superstars but 3D World is my next Mario game to get, thanks for your insight! Odyssey looks awesome too and has excellent reviews everywhere

  • how much trade in value do you normally get from switch games?

    • Amazingly high. Nintendo are scum bags that rarely discount their main titles. I remember buying botw and selling for $5 less than retail 2 years later.

  • +6

Here's an idea: Try taking advantage of the 2 for $30 deal for current gen games at JB Hi Fi (idealy games that cost about $36 or more each at EB Games) and trade those in for any of the selected games of your choice at no additional cost, which would be cheaper for you to buy the games that way than you would purchasing these games normally.

I got Mario RPG (2023) this way by buying Saints Row (2022) and Immortals of Aveum for $30 (for the pair of them) and then trading them in to get it for free.

    • Did you get immortals last week? Because it is no longer in the 2 for 30 deal (at least not online)

    • Smart. This guy is playing chess while we are playing checkers.

  • Will they accept game cartridge only, no box?

    • Im not sure for these deals. Without the box they normally trade in at reduced value.

    • +2

      Yes they discount $3

    • +1

No, they didn't accept game cartridges only as it wasn't in "resealable condition" even if it met the $10 value condition.

  • +2

I was told anything over $10 trade value, which appears to be pretty much any switch game. Traded 2 of my daughter’s awful kids games (My Universe My Baby) and got her Mario Wonder.

  • Cheers - traded in an old NBA 2K (server closed anyway!) and another game i bought for $15.

Had a look at the JB, but all the tradeable games had been cleared out (probably for this deal!). Left it too late to try a different JB.

  • So, silly question, was it that you get the trade in value AND a "free" game, or just the free game?

Just wondering about the phrasing of "a free game with…"

    • +2

      Just the free game
