Criterion Collection 50% off All Titles - Barnes & Noble

130

Hey everybody, the bi-annual Criterion Collection sale is running at the moment with Barnes & Noble.

All Blu-Ray and DVD's are 50%, including pre-orders. Some really great movies on offer, in what could only be described as the definitive version. For anyone who doesn't know what Criterion are all about, here's a link to their site: http://www.criterion.com/

Keep in mind all Criterion Collection products are Region A/Region 1 for BD/DVD respectively, so a Region free player is required.

  • Does anyone know if Passkey Lite - http://www.dvdfab.com/passkey-lite.htm - will let you play BD from other regions?

  • Purchased a few last time they did this.
Still don't have a region one BluRay player to watch them on yet.

  • Standard shipping is $7.49 per order plus 99c a disc

I looked at only the Blu Rays. Nothing under $14.99. Add to that the shipping charges… you're better off ordering from Amazon or The Hut/Zavvi and/or waiting for their sales, for both price and region reasons.

The sale is of interest for those specifically interested in Criterion's you will not get them from The Hut or Zavi, amazon do have them however they are priced higher than B&N but Amazons shipping is slightly cheaper

      • Huh, I had no idea about that. Interesting to contrast the regular/UK releases and Criterion releases on blu-ray.com. Not just repackaging, it would seem.

        • Hi there, Criterion releases are generally vastly different from your standard run of the mill release. Certainly not just a repackaging.

Check out the link I gave in the deal for more information on their releases.

        • You getting anything in particular? I purchased in the last sale so I think I may miss this time. There is one I want but shipping wise getting multiple titles is more efficient and I can't see anything I want to add to it.

        • I already ordered five myself: La Haine, The Royal Tenenbaums, Rushmore, The Thin Red Line, and Seven Samurai. Cost me around $11 USD for shipping.

I'm tempted to order a few more (just because of the price, essentially) but waiting a bit for now. Like mickeyb mentioned below, the Qatsi Trilogy is VERY tempting.

        • Last time I got Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, The Last Emperor, Yojimbo, Sanjuro, The Seventh Seal & Man Bites Dog

        • Ahhhh, I want all of those as well. Seriously considering just blowing a bunch of money and making it an early Christmas present to myself hah.

  • Criterion Qatsi Trilogy pre-order is US$39.99, which is half the price of Amazon.

  • I grabbed Fishing with John, Solaris and Andrei Rublev; ~$10.50 shipping.

May I recommend Fishing with John to… Everyone.

  • I have forgotten my password, and I have moved on from that email address so I can't reset it.
Bummer. Will have to keep trying possible passwords or just create a new account I guess.

Why did I not have Last Pass back then??????

  • Sale was extended until to the 26th also there is now a working 30% off online code T9P3E3W it will only apply to 1 title in your cart and comes off the already reduced price
