These are getting cheaper and cheaper. Maybe, they will stop manufacturing and introducing a new one with an ad saying advanced technology, removing 99.9999% of something, blah, blah, with a quadrupled price.

      It already exists.

      https://www.google.com/search?q=Oral+B+IO+series

The new heads + toothbrushes are incompatible with the old and the replacements heads cost a billion dollars.

As far as I can work out, there is no clear reason for breaking compatibility other than money.

The only new functionality is vibration in addition to the rotary head (advertised as "3D cleaning"), so that people who were deciding between a vibrating and rotary head toothbrushes can have both if they buy from the Oral B IO series.

Everything else is superficial, like Bluetooth. If you're bad at brushing your teeth, the timer + excessive pressure sensor light might help initially, but obviously they don't do anything once you're past that learning curve. Some stuff like the mini screens will actually make battery life worse because it's another thing to draw power.

They definitely could have added all these features to a pre-IO compatible toothbrush, but they haven't. Probably on purpose.

  • The electric tooth brushers were on 1/2 price n clearance too

  • Bought the same 16 pack for $16 at my local Woolies when it was in clearance in January.

    • 16-pack for $16? Really? I bought the same for $31 from this deal, and I thought I'd had a bargain…
