I applied for the Fed Government energy bill relief program shortly after it went live last year. Followed up with my provider at the time after a number of months of seeing no credit and was advised they were having to manaully apply the credit to each account if you were able to get it. I ended up leaving that provider in December. Has anyone else had issues with this payment or know how you go about chasing it up if you move providers?

Account must be in same name as Centrelink.
Consent must be given in MyGov in Centrelink
If you gain it from FTA or Carers Allowance it wont automatically apply.
Services Australia will never reply to anything about it.
I had to escalate to the complaint resolution team, provide my Centrelink CRN, say I had consented in MyGov and tell them they had 10 days to action the rebate or Id go to the Ombudsman.
48 hours later I had $250 (2 quarters) credits on my account.
Yeah i did the consent way back when. Sounds like another balls'd up scheme designed to be limited in reach.
When I spoke to SA DHS Concessions (another one who ppl get fobbed off to), they said that there was just no thought given to how it would work for allowances (Carers, Family Tax Benefit etc). So the federal government has gone 'yes, you can get it' but never stopped to ask how itll actually work.
If youve done all the above and youre claiming under an allowance, i would just escalate it.
My energy provider is Globird, Victoria. I got $125.00 last month from the government to offset my energy bills. Thanks to them.
