Be sure to check the prices on another device/web browser/incognito mode before booking using cashrewards links on booking.com.

Unlike other affiliate partners where the price is fixed they can and do increase the price of the accommodation when booking using their referral so the 10% is not a real discount.

I second this. I have found the majority of the time that going via a cash back site works out more expensive for booking.com

    • Not just booking.com. Even Agoda is more expensive if you click through CR.

booking up their prices signifcantly when cashback is enabled and 'deals' like this are around every second day, no deal

  • I have been looking at some accommodations over several weeks on booking.com and generally don't find changes from amount of cashback offer. But I do find sometimes cashback is not applied correctly says $5 instead of the percentage it ought to be.

Like many others have said, as an ozbargainer you're almost given to check other websites (expedia, agoda) and so on, I've found cashrewards+expedia is usually the best deal. Unfortunately many are also right and i've tried it many times, booking.com especially jacks up the price. These sights always have hotels and such on cashback, more recently i scored 14.5% off through expedia and got a genuinely good deal. Look out for more of them.

  • Thanks, cashback site price was the same as regular site and was also the same as all the other booking sites such as Expedia. Should hopefully get $34 cashback.

  • I do experience the increase when using cash back, but this time my booking has not increased so a great post.

Alternatively i use trivago, sometimes it is cheaper.
