This is a modem and router all-in-one made for FTTN and FTTB.
Reviews on this seem to be good. Usually around the $299 mark.
Also on Amazon from the same seller for $244, and on UMART for $255.

Its not just a router so less options.
Its got a modem in it too for certain types of NBN connections. But yes you can get AX55 (wifi6) for like 1/2 the price if you just need a router.
that is way too expensive for a AC wifi modem/router
Honestly if you require a vdsl modem for FTTN/FTTB, it's cheaper to just grab a second hand Gen 2 Telstra Smart Modem.
Then I suppose you could bridge that to whatever router or extend your network with cheaper 802.11ax wired access points, while you wait for your suburb to be upgraded to FTTP.
Edit: I noted Gen 2 instead of 3 because they're generally cheaper and I've witnessed someone's Gen 3 be a bit flakey. Also of note is that their firmware is customisable to an extent via 3rd party shenanigans. https://hack-technicolor.readthedocs.io/en/latest/

Yep under $50 for a used Telstra SMG2, which has good WiFi performance anyway, then add a Unifi U6 Lite for (nearly) the same outlay…
You can get wifi6 adsl modems for $30 on marketplace… mine is ax5400.
I have TPG provided NBN fttb. Would this work? Requires setting of VDSL = 2
I'd be happy to put tpg supplied gateway in bridge mode yo a supported router as another option
It does appear to have an input for the vlan id, which you have mentioned is required for TPG group connections.

There would be far cheaper (and possibly more capable) solutions than this modem if you wanted to do that.
Wifi 6 is the ONLY way to go from now if buying a router that you want to keep for the next 2-5 years

Which costs more.
I wonder if this might be a price error through the Catch marketplace as this is $299 on the Harris Technology web site. It's the same business selling the same product. Why would it be from the same business and yet have two wildly different prices for exactly the same product?.

This is Wifi 5. You could get a better Wifi 6 router for this price. Unless I'm missing something?
