[VIC Only] VEECs Calculation for Reclaim HP HWS 315L 316-Rated Marine Grade SS Tank

Hi folks,

Those of you who are familiar with the VEEC scheme, and how they are calculated, could you please kindly assist with my question.

I assure you that I have done the basic google but still did not get anywhere with an answer that makes sense.

Background: I am looking at replacing my old gas HWS with an electric heat pump HWS.
HP HWS Model Chosen: Reclaim Energy 315L (REHP-CO2-315SST-V2)

According to Reclaim Energy's website: https://reclaimenergy.com.au/rebates/

This particular HP model (REHP-CO2-315SST-V2) for an install postcode of 3000 VIC results in:

• 23 STCs / $828
• 16 Metro VEECs / $880

When I check the VEEC Calculator (Activity 3C - Heat pump replacing gas), I only see 8 eligible VEECs.

I still have not heard back from Reclaim Energy regarding this discrepancy.

Does anyone know the best site to look up the current price of a single VEEC?

    Current wholesale price for a spot VEEC in wholesale volume (5000 units) is $91.00+GST

      I guess my installer isn't trading anywhere near that volume.
      They quoted $55 + GST. I assume this value is after they have subtracted their markup / admin fee.

    a) Gas won't give you 23, you only get 7-8; 23 is for electric;
    b) They will never transfer back full spot price of a VEEC.
    c) Price of a VEEC is irrelevant to you, as you can't create, register or trade them. It's up to your service provider.

      23 is the count of STCs generated.

      I think you meant 16, right?
      This VEECs count is for replacing a dumb electric heating element with a heat pump.

        sorry, I meant 16; 16 is for Electric replaced with a HP; Gas replaced with a HP gives you less. Also you may be eligible for a $1000 via SolarVic
