Monitor Help - Dell S2721DS Has Yellowish Tint

Just recently purchased a Dell S2721DS monitor as part of the recently published deal to pair with my Dell S2722DC monitor.

The latter monitor has been working flawlessly (connected via USB c to my work laptop - Dell latitude 5420) and have now set up the secondary monitor (didn’t need USB c connectivity since deciding to plug in via HDMI) Dell S2721DS which appears to have a yellowish tint, especially when compared side by side.

Has anyone else faced this issue? The monitor settings are identical (the inbuilt monitor settings) including sharpness, brightness, presets, contrast - all set to the exact same values.

Really frustrated and would rather not have to return the monitor without exhausting all options - plus I threw away the box it came in anyway :/

  • Have you tried swapping the monitors to see if the issue follows the monitor?

I had issue with another Dell monitor and the warranty resolution was simply - they replaced it. A new monitor came in box and all I had to do was place the old screen in the new box and send back.

    Exact same setup here.

    Connected to Dell laptop:
    22dc using USBC
    221ds using HDMI

    Connected to desktop:
    22dc using HDMI
    221ds using HDMI

Yes I did notice different in colour but I changed both to the warm preset and seems to be a close enough match I don't notice anymore

    • I have two of the same model and had to adjust one slightly to match using manual settings like tint and contrast.

  • Every panel will be different so you'll need to adjust the colour settings accordingly - don't set them to be the same as they won't match. Look up some youtube videos on how to calibrate your monitor - it doesn't need to be "accurate" it just needs to look good / the same to you!
