Hmm is it worth holding out for the 4G version to come out.. Was thinking that the 3G note might take a small price hit when the 4G lands on Kogan or somewhere.
I was also waiting for the nexus 4, but now that the specs are officially released, I'll spend the extra $250.
Initially i was concerned about the exynos sources issue, especially since my G2X was left high and dry by LG, but the issue seems to have been delt with.
Also, as a heavy user, I really need that sweet battery life!
What was wrong with the NEXUS 4 specs? They seemed pretty good for the price.
for me it's the storage size - no SD slot. I have the Galaxy Nexus and feel the squeeze on that one - so not enough of a reason to upgrade to Nexus 4
That sweet screen and battery on the Note 2 though…
the Note 2 will have the same software features as the Nexus 4 when it updates to Jelly bean right? i.e the camera software?
Which one has the better camera? i have decided that i will buy a nexus if it has the better camera, because the wireless charging will compensate for the lack of sd card reader and smaller screen
i believe the processors are about the same
that being said if you can flash a nokia 820 with android considering its all arm hardware, then nokia wins hands down
the Note 2 will have the same software features as the Nexus 4 when it updates to Jelly bean right?
maybe yes, maybe no. Samsung makes money from selling hardware, and the sooner you churn for the new model (because of a new feature or new OS version or any other million reasons) the more profitable it's for them.
i mean root device and sideload jellybean 4.2
i.e. is the google sphere a native feature of jellybean 4.2
the BIGGEST pro of a Nexus is the instant update on OS.
but I would love to have a SD slot on my camera.
For me it is the fact that the biggest size is 16gb. It may make sense in the US where they have large data limits and good coverage, but its a different story for here at least. Plus, with a 2100 mah battery, i dont think it will last me long enough ( even with krait).
yes both phones have pro's and con's - such a tough choice but the $420 price point on the Nexus 4 is so hard to ignore - I have had the SG2 for a year now so over Touchwiz
Just FYI - I've been following the "where to buy" thread on Whirlpool - http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=1980137. If you choose the insured option, they use a different, "slower" courier that seems to be frustrating some of the diehards on WP. Seems regular shipping comes very quickly (within a few days)
Man - I want one of these - still a bit too expensive…
I went with Kogan and it is only $618 Shipped with insurance, they also pay for a courier to pick your phone up if anything goes wrong, UM you have to pay the cost to send it back for warranty issues.
Same here, I went with Kogan because of that..
Guys just to clear this up. UM only charge postage if the problem is found not be covered under warranty. If warranty claims are valid UM pays all postage costs. Thanks
How does that work if it has to be sent to you guys first to determine if it was covered under warranty? Do you pay for the cost and then if it's found to not to be covered you send the buyer a bill for the postage?
also reading your warranty page,
"Return postage of faulty items is the responsibility of the Buyer - no exceptions. Unique Mobiles will cover the cost of sending replaced/repaired items."
Most people think this means even if the item is faulty and coverered under warrant you have to pay to send it to you guys and you guys pay to send it back, at least that's what I did, and looks like I'm not alone.
It's not very clear how it works, Kogan make it very clear.
-The sad thing is I would have bought from you guys if I had known and actually tried for 2 hours to get in contact with you on live chat to ask, and never got a responce.
Same here. Ordered 2 notes from kogan few weeks back even though they were a bit dearer at that time.
bought my phone 2 weeks ago for $653.
definitely worth it,
however, make sure u do a pocket check, cause it doesnt fit in some of my pockets =/
Hope you bought with a 28 Degrees Card, so you can claim back the price drop.
Just got my 28 degrees card last week.. Just wondering about the price drop protection? Wouldn't it make sense if you waited until close to the end of the 6 month period so you can claim a even more potential price drop. Assuming you can only claim once.
Just lodged my claim. You can claim as many as you want provided the difference of each claim is over $10 and for each item the sum of all claims can not exceed $600…
Thats cool!
Is it worth getting it from UniqueMobile for $5 less compare to Kogan ?
How is the waranty service like ?
For the price of a flat white from a trendy inner-city Melbourne coffee shop, I'd say it's worth getting from Kogan in this instance for the piece of mind.
Do you even read the comments, I talked about this wow.
In case anyone wondered, my claim for the price difference under the price protection insurance offered by 28 degrees has been approved. I was paid $43.
Ive got the original Note and its an awesome phone, but this is soooo tempting.
