Buying from Overseas Can I Claim Back under TRS?

Hi, I am looking at purchasing a secondhand watch from Chrono24.

As the item is from overseas, am assuming I will get charged Custom duty tax - 5% import duty and 10% of import GST.

Hence my question is will I be able to claim the 10% of import GST if I am leaving the country as part of TRS (Tourist Refund Scheme )?

What documentation will be required as evidence if this is allowed.

Thanks.

    Mate.

spend at least AUD 300, (including Goods and Services Tax (GST), in total from a supplier with the same Australian Business Number (ABN)

  • Paying import costs depends on who you buy it from. Most of the sales platforms, eg eBay, Amazon, etc will automatically charge GST regardless of the value of the item.
Importing from many other sources that are not part of the GST capture network will not be charged GST. Under $A1,000 you will get away without paying any import charges.

    Claims for imported goods
A condition of making a TRS claim is that goods must be supplied within Australia.
Foreign goods can be eligible for a TRS refund if the retailer imports the goods into Australia themselves, and then supplies the goods to a customer.
Goods purchased overseas and imported to Australia by you, where import duty and taxes are paid are not eligible.

Thanks for the feedback and the watch is priced ~AUD2000.

Looks like its a No-Go in my situation for TRS claim as supplier/seller is overseas based :(
