Hope this will be a good replacement for my kid’s vivosport 4.

Shucks. Was literally looking for a basic activity tracker sub 100, and really didn't want a fitbit.. But I'm not a fan of the blue lol.
@ldd-mn: Bought the Mi Band 8, it's… fine. But the Google Fit Sync basically doesn't work, despite being connected.. I use MyFitnessPal too so was relying on the sync to work. Makes it partially useless as a tracker for my uses until it gets fixed. I believe there's options like notify, but was really hoping for a more seamless experience. Guess I'll see if software updates improve it.
@ReaperX22: Yeah it's okay, I have one too. I actually just use the official app for activity tracking. It's pretty basic but I don't have any real issues with it. I've never used Google Fit so I couldn't tell you about my experiences with that.
@ldd-mn: Yeah if you're only using the official app it's fine, but looks like syncing to other apps is a pain. Unsure if I'm going to keep it yet though a friend has expressed interest in one too so might just palm off to them if I decide the sync issues are a deal breaker for me, at 60 bucks I'm not overly concerned!
@ReaperX22: Just looked at my app, I don't actually have the option to sync to Google Fit. It must be because I have the China version of the band with NFC. Kind of wished I had just waited for the global version.

How is this better than the Xiaomi Mi Band 8 global version for $55 delivered from AliExpress?
We are a Garmin household so I’m not sure how the Garmin compares with the Xiaomi.

It does. Links up pretty well with other xiaomi devices if you're into sharing step counts and such (if other family members are using a Mi Band too) I've used them since Mi Band 1 and they are super good for the price. Currently using Mi Band 8 and it's great.
This looks to be 7 days where mi band is like 10-12 days
Functionality-wise it's not better. However, for people like me who want the smallest possible fitness band that still has some decent functionality, you won't find better than this model.
I don't think the MI Band 8 is that much bigger. Unless you have really small wrists. Then fair enough.
