Best Gigabit Network Switch for Hot Roof Cavity

Gday all,
Looking for someone who has come across a
1) Gigabit Network Switch
2) That can handle a roof cavity that can go up to 60-70 degrees Celsius

No Power over Ethernet requirements, just feeding into cat6 wired network ports in various rooms for a home extension.

I've been using an industrial switch off eBay (RS900G for $70) which does the job in the space.
But the RJ45 ports only go up to 100Mb, hence the 1Gb request as we're seeing congestion.
I'm not an electrician, so something that I can plug in for power would also be useful.

Suggestions welcomed!
Thanks

    • Cheers - just given the no electrician aspect, what would you recommend for the power into the unit?

You should be able to reuse your existing power supply.

      • it is a 12-48V DC input, any DC output in that range will work, and if it can plug in to the AC you shouldn't need a sparky to do anything.

      • Checked info on RS900G and the power supply used with it, should work fine with the suggested device.

  • I have a Cisco SG 300-28P in my garage and the hallway cupboard without any issues. I also have a computer on the roof which runs its CPU at about 55C to 60C degrees.

I've got a Dream Machine Pro in the same cupboard as the Cisco Switch (along with UPS and other stuff), it is operating at 50C. There is no ventilation really in the cupboard (no fan or anything).

As long as you have a bit of ventilation around the switch and it has a Fan, it'll be fine in the roof. The roof isn't 100% sealed anyway, so it will get some ventilation. Or are per jv, get a whirlybird as well.
