  It's likely you may not need that much? The way the official and blue dollar rates are going and inflation still very high, there is not a huge difference. Better off using a credit card for most payments. Cash is good but you will be carrying huge amounts of notes. e.g. $100 USD will get you around 100,000 pesos. Whilst the highest note is 2,000 pesos, they are quite rare, so for each $100 USD you will be carrying 100 x 1,000 peso notes.
  Credit cards still get a rate (MEP) close to the blue dollar, but if any vendor quotes in USD they will convert to the MEP rate not the official rate. Always pay in pesos on your credit card if you can.

  Never use ATMs.

  Still a great destination and good value but not as good as last or previous years.

    Thanks for your advice. I am planning to use credit card but still need some usd cash as backup. Not all places accept card.
